Our first eTruck to be delivered was purchased by the Elflein Group. The 1300-strong transport and logistics company is very aware of its social responsibility. In this interview, Rüdiger Elflein, CEO at Elflein Holding GmbH, talks about the scope and importance of focussing on innovative electric drives. He has already announced that, together with MAN and the operator DRÄXLMAIER, Elflein will put two more eTrucks into operation by the end of the year and two more MAN eTrucks for another customer in the first quarter of 2025. 100 years after the presentation of the first MAN diesel truck, the first all-electric MAN eTruck is delivered. Our CEO Alexander Vlaskamp got the MAN eTGX off the ground together with the eTruck project team at our Munich plant. Now it was handed over to its customer. A historic moment for MAN. The first MAN eTruck will transport batteries emission-free for the automotive supplier DRÄXLMAIER Group to the local Porsche plant in Leipzig, which will then be installed in the Porsche Macan Electric. It couldn't be more consistent. "We are very pleased about the trust in MAN. After years of planning, development and many tens of thousands of kilometres of test drives, we are finally getting started", says Alexander Vlaskamp. “By using the MAN eTruck, we are realising complete electrification for our customer and reaffirming our efforts to make logistics processes more sustainable and future-oriented,” says Felix Klimas, Head of Supply Chain Management at the DRÄXLMAIER Group. A key step on our road to an emission-free future: the first fully electric MAN eTGX was delivered to DRÄXLMAIER Group today. “This is a milestone in our company history. MAN presented the first diesel truck 100 years ago. Now we are entering a new electric era,” says MAN CEO Alexander Vlaskamp. The milestone for MAN was reached in Leipzig, where the first fully electric 40-ton truck was handed over by MAN Board Member for Sales Friedrich-W. Baumann. The MAN eTGX will be used by automotive supplier DRÄXLMAIER to transport the batteries for the Porsche Macan Electric from its Leipzig plant to the Porsche site there - with zero emissions. The eTruck will be charged with electrical energy from renewable sources on the DRÄXLMAIER factory premises. An all-round electric success story. Two more vehicles are to follow by the end of the year, so that a total of three MAN eTGX will be in use.
