Info

At Mazda we love driving. In fact, we love it so much we use a Japanese phrase to describe the feeling you experience when driving a Mazda: Jinba Ittai. This translates as “the oneness between horse and rider”, or in our case, the car and driver. Further information on the electric range, energy costs, vehicle tax and CO2 costs can be found at www.mazda.de/Energieverbrauch Every member of our team is passionate about getting behind the wheel of their Mazda. Half of our senior managers have racing licences and our European CEO recently took part in the Baja 100 race in California. It is in our blood. For over 100 years, all our passion has been put into improving the experience of driving. Not only did we create the MX-5, the world’s bestselling two-seater roadster with 1.2 million sales, and counting… but we were also the first Asian brand to win Le Mans. Not bad for an independent company based in Hiroshima that started making three-wheel trucks in the early 1900s! All our multi-award winning cars are crafted in Japan, where we bring modern twists to globally renowned Japanese aesthetics. We love great looking cars, winning World Car of the Year two times and World Car Design of the Year three times in the last ten years. We are also the only car brand invited twice to show concept cars at the prestigious Concorso D’eleganza Villa D’Este. We also love how cars work. Our unique engineering means we are creating some of the most exciting PHEV and EV vehicles on the market, while continuing to build the most efficient internal combustion engine vehicles. We have a proud heritage, but each of the 1,200 members of Mazda’s European team are also excited about the future. Our goals are clear in Europe: we strive to become the first non-European premium automotive brand by creating great to drive, great to own and great looking Mazda cars.

For over 300,000 years, ochre has been more than just a pigment— it’s been a tool for human expression. Found in ancient cave paintings across the globe, the art of colour making stands as one of humanity’s oldest crafts. We recently took the Mazda CX-30 on an inspiring journey to the Ôkhra Ecomuseum, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Roussillon, France. There, we traced back history through the Sentier des Ocres, a former ochre quarry, and delved into the stories held within the walls of this former factory. Colour and craftsmanship are the essence of our brand. During this trip, we embraced ochre not only as a medium of creativity but as a bridge connecting us to one of mankind’s oldest crafts. Join us on this vivid journey through the history, the present, and the future of colour making with Mazda.

We’re excited to announce that we at MME will once again join the global Orizuru project from MC, sending Paper Cranes from Europe to Hiroshima as a symbol of peace. MC will donate all our cranes to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park later this year. To participate, we’ve placed origami paper on the counter in the lobby of the main building. Be sure to grab a few sheets next time you’re in the office! . If you want to learn more about the project and how to fold these beautiful cranes, check out the intranet article for further information. 📖🔗 Please remember to place your Paper Cranes in the lobby by September 13th. Let’s come together and make a difference! 🙌 Thank you for participating and helping us spread a message of peace. 🌟

18 years ago: First Year of the Power Retractable Hardtop In 2006, Mazda introduced the Power Retractable Hardtop (RHT) for the MX-5, adding a new dimension of versatility to the iconic roadster. This innovative feature allowed drivers to enjoy the open-air experience of a convertible with the convenience and security of a hardtop. The RHT could be raised or lowered in just 12 seconds, making it the fastest retractable hardtop of its kind at the time. The addition of the RHT did not compromise the MX-5’s lightweight and agile performance. Instead, it enhanced the car’s appeal by offering greater comfort and practicality, especially in varying weather conditions. The 2006 MX-5 with the RHT continued to embody the ‘Jinba Ittai’ philosophy, delivering a seamless connection between car and driver. #Mazda #MX5 #Miata #Roadster

We visited Anna Karin Andersson in her atelier in Uzès, France, arriving in the Mazda CX-30 in Ceramic White. Her work exemplifies traditional craftsmanship, producing pure, simple, and utilitarian porcelain forms. Anna Karin is self-taught ceramicist, discovered her passion for clay at the age of nine in a community workshop in Gothenburg, Sweden. After a modeling career in Paris, she returned to pottery, opening her studio in Uzès in 2018. Her artistic approach involves constant exploration of porcelain, using techniques like casting, wheel throwing, coiling, and slab building. She creates both functional and decorative pieces, often incorporating natural elements to add a poetic touch to everyday life. As an autodidact, Anna Karin embraces the freedom from traditional rules, fostering creativity and open-mindedness. Her inspirations include nature, southern light, dance, and travel. This September in Venice, we invite you to the exhibition “The Journey of Life,” where Mazda honours the dedication of Anna Karin and other artisans to their craft. Experience the blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation. Join us in celebrating the relentless pursuit of perfection and the artistry that inspires us all.
