"Shape the M" is aimed at various target groups, including young talent, sales staff, logistics employees and experts in administrative functions. The focus was on attracting new talent as well as retaining and motivating existing employees. The campaign was developed in close cooperation with the METRO country organisations and adapted locally everywhere - from "Wir sind das M" in Germany to "Buduz z Nami M" in Poland. We were able to convince the jury with our approach and are in high-calibre company with the award, as only seven out of a total of over 100 applications were nominated in the "Employer brand implementation - company" category 🙌 #OneMETRO #OneMakro #OnTrack #ShapeTheM

Hospitality training programme for former homeless people 🤝 The pilot project took off in cooperation with #HousingFirst e.V. Düsseldorf and the street magazine #fiftyfifty. During a 4-week ‘hospitality training’ course in our test kitchen as well as our canteen in the Düsseldorf headquarters, participants are prepared for potential future work in the hospitality sector and can demonstrate their willingness, resilience and mental stability for work in the hospitality industry. ‘In order to really end homelessness and support sustainable reintegration into society, the integration of those affected into the labour market is crucial. We want to actively support this,' says Andrea K. Weber, who heads the project on our behalf. “We are happy to provide our expertise to this end, on the one hand by making resources available here on campus in Düsseldorf, but on the other hand we also see a great advantage in our close connection to the hospitality industry, which is desperately looking for workers”. From the perspective of civil society and civic engagement, I have long experienced that it is powerful when we form alliances - civil society, business, politics. We need more cooperation and less competition. 🎂 60 years of METRO – our Anniversary Week! Vibrant, loud, colourful, and absolutely unforgettable! 🎉 What a week it has been celebrating 60 years of METRO! From the Global Supplier Conference with over 100 suppliers, to a unique Anniversary Gala with 14 Michelin stars, 10 incredible courses, and 8 hours of pure culinary magic! ✨ At the Leadership Meeting our top 300 managers exchanged valuable insights and reinforced our sense of unity. 🌍 We celebrated with our employees at the epic ONE METRO Festival, with over 3,000 colleagues joining on-site and virtually - it was a true celebration of our #OneMETRO spirit. 🎉 We hosted over 100 events for employees at our ONE METRO Campus in Düsseldorf and welcomed more than 400 customers to the METRO Chef Festival.
