Together with UITP, New Mobility Solutions Hamburg GmbH, Hamburger Hochbahn AG and Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV), we had the pleasure to host the Women in Mobility event ‘Move Up’ at our MOIA office in Hamburg. The Women in Mobility network dedicates its work to increase the visibility of women in the mobility sector. It was an evening of insightful keynotes of different speakers, fruitful discussions and a great opportunity to network with other women shaping the mobility landscape.  A big thank you to our speakers for sharing their expertise: 🎤 Lindsey Barr (she/her), UITP, opened the night and provided insights into the upcoming UITP Summit 2025, the must-attend event for the public transport sector, which will take place in Hamburg on 15 to 18 June 2025. 🎤 Merle Schmidt-Brunn, Hamburger Hochbahn AG, spoke about the current proportion of women working in public transport in Germany, how colleagues can support other women to grow in their career and in which way the narrative still needs to change for equal opportunities. 🎤 Julia Wissel, MOIA, shared insights into our ALIKE project and how we are leveraging the learnings based on 12 Mio. non-autonomous ridepooling rides to establish an autonomous ridepooling service, together with our partners at Hochbahn, in Hamburg. 🎤 Kerstin Dämon, VDV eTicket Service GmbH & Co. KG, presented "Öffis bunt", an initiative of queer employees and straight allies from the public transport sector in NRW who are committed to diversity, visibility and appreciation of the LGBTIQA community in local public transport. A big thank you to Women in Mobility and all participants for an inspiring evening. We're happy to drive mobility forward – making it more sustainable, inclusive and innovative for everyone. 🚗 #WomenInMobility #UITPSummit2025

How open is society to autonomous driving?  We posed this question to PD Dr.-Ing. Martin Kagerbauer, a mobility researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) specializing in new forms of mobility and mobility behavior. He provides valuable insights into how people perceive and adapt to autonomous technologies.  'The attitude towards autonomous technology is very positive. However, it’s crucial that people can experience the technology firsthand to build trust –assuming it works properly.' In our interview, Dr. Kagerbauer explores:  ➡️ The key factors shaping transport mode choices  ➡️ The role of the mobility transition  ➡️ How autonomous technology can transform public transport  Dr. Kagerbauer and his team are making valuable contributions to the ALIKE project, where they’re identifying ways to enhance the user experience of autonomous ride-pooling services. Discover how autonomous mobility could reshape the future of public transport in our full interview 👉 https://lnkd.in/eGSKjyB8 The interview in German 👉 https://lnkd.in/epdqKkG8

This year at CES 2025, I joined Johann Jungwirth from Mobileye and Sebastian Lasek from Volkswagen ADMT to show how autonomous ridepooling is moving from concept to reality. Beyond launching AV fleets, MOIA is building an open platform that welcomes collaboration between the industry players and potential customers. True scalability, in our view, comes from working together. Our platform enables both public and private operators to shape AV services for their unique needs—because one-size-fits-all solutions simply don’t work everywhere. After 12+ million rides in Hamburg, we see rising demand for shared mobility. Now, pilots in Hamburg, Munich, and Austin demonstrate how AVs can scale efficiently, lower costs, and improve urban transport. The industry can either close itself off or embrace openness so more people can benefit from autonomous mobility. We choose openness, adaptability, and driving real societal impact. Unlocking Autonomous Mobility Globally 🌟 MOIA CEO Sascha Meyer joined during CES the panel discussion ‘Unlocking Autonomous Mobility Globally with VW, MOIA and Mobileye’ with Sebastian Lasek, Senior Vice President at Volkswagen ADMT, and Johann Jungwirth, Executive Vice President for the Development of Autonomous Driving. Self-driving vehicles are the game changer to revolutionize urban mobility by enhancing availability and flexibility, while simultaneously delivering significant social benefits: improved road safety, sustaining mobility despite driver shortages, and promoting social mobility. This year, MOIA will gradually expand test operations with closed user group tests. Thank you Mobileye for the invitation and this engaging and interesting exchange! #CES2025 #AutonomousDriving #FutureofTransport

Autonomous driving, once sounding like science fiction, is now becoming a reality. But how ready is the public to embrace it? According to a recent survey by Bitkom, the acceptance of autonomous vehicles is growing. More than three-quarters of Germans are open to use autonomous buses, trains or shuttles. This technology holds great potential for local public transport, enabling more frequent services and better connections. 🕑 This aligns perfectly with what we’ve discovered in our own MOIA survey: We recently asked MOIA users in Hamburg about their awareness of autonomous ridepooling and their willingness to use it. Over 75% of our customers in Hamburg feel positive or neutral about an autonomous MOIA service, and more than half are eager to try it. 🙌 Find out more about the Bitkom study on the acceptance of autonomous mobility systems here: https://lnkd.in/ea6VE4Hx

PowerCo 🇨🇦 x MOIA Mobility Consulting    Collaboration within Volkswagen Group is key to driving innovation and shaping mobility for generations to come.     MOIA works closely with partners, cities and urban planners, sharing valuable expertise and insights by creating traffic simulations to develop strategies to improve prevailing mobility systems.    Recently, our MOIA Mobility Consulting team joined forces with Volkswagen Group’s PowerCo as they build their new gigafactory in St. Thomas – a state-of-the-art battery plant set to create 3,000 jobs. By creating a detailed digital model of St. Thomas and its surrounding areas, our experts helped identify solutions to enhance the region’s future mobility system. These strategies support PowerCo and the community in adapting to the upcoming changes and its evolving infrastructure.   We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this project and support PowerCo in its important work.
