Das Museum Barberini präsentiert ein weiteres Werk von Gustave Caillebotte in der ständigen Sammlung des Hauses. „Segelboote auf der Seine bei Argenteuil“ (1892) ist das 115. Werk der Sammlung Hasso Plattner und nach Camille Pissarros „Der Louvre, Morgen, Frühling“ (1902) sowie den beiden Werken Claude Monets „Antibes von den Gärten von Salis aus“ (1888) und „Die Mühle von Limetz“ (1888) die bereits vierte Neuerwerbung der Hasso Plattner Foundation in diesem Jahr 🎨 Ortrud Westheider, Direktorin des Museums Barberini: „Wir sind sehr glücklich, dass die Stiftung dieses bedeutende Werk erworben hat. Es sprüht vor Frische und Lebendigkeit und stärkt die Position unseres Museums als ein Haus, das die Landschaftsmalerei des französischen Impressionismus so konsequent nachvollziehbar macht, wie kaum ein anderes.“ Das Museum Barberini in Potsdam zeigt dauerhaft die umfangreiche Sammlung impressionistischer und postimpressionistischer Gemälde des Museumsgründers Hasso Plattner. Mit acht Gemälden von Gustave Caillebotte und weiteren bedeutenden Werkgruppen – darunter jeweils sieben Gemälde von Pierre-Auguste Renoir und Camille Pissarro, zwölf Gemälde von Alfred Sisley und ein Bestand von 40 Werken von Claude Monet – beherbergt das Museum Barberini eine weltweit beachtete Sammlung 🖼️ ––––   We're delighted to announce that Museum Barberini has added another work by Gustave Caillebotte to its permanent collection. “Boats moored on the Seine at Argenteuil” (1892) is the 115th work in the Hasso Plattner Collection and the fourth new acquisition by the Hasso Plattner Foundation this year, following Camille Pissarro's "The Louvre, Morning, Spring" (1902) and the two works by Claude Monet, "Antibes Seen from the Salis Gardens" (1888) and "The Mill at Limetz" (1888) 🎨   Ortrud Westheider, Director of the Museum Barberini: “We are very happy that the Foundation has acquired this important work. From 2016 to 2019, photographer Christoph Irrgang travelled to dozens of European locations immortalized in paintings by Monet, Renoir and Sisley to document the effects of time and modernization on the landscape. In this new publication by Prestel Publishing, his photographs are juxtaposed with reproductions of the original paintings from the Museum Barberini in Potsdam.   I had the pleasure of interpreting the 33 pairs of pictures. Die Ausstellung "Munch. Lebenslandschaft" ist seit 1. April nicht mehr am #MuseumBarberini zu sehen - dank des BBC News World Service gibt es trotzdem noch ein besonderes Souvenir an die Ausstellung: "Munch on the Move" hat die Teams des Munchmuseet, des Clark Art Institute und des Museums Barberini beim Aufbau begleitet und gibt Einblicke in die Vorbereitungen eines Ausstellungsprojektes mit drei internationalen Museumspartnern. In Oslo läuft die Schau noch bis zum 25. August! 🇳🇴

Als Dauerleihgaben der Hasso Plattner Foundation stärken sie Potsdams Position als Sammlungsstandort, der in 113 Werken die Landschaftsmalerei des französischen Impressionismus so konsequent nachvollziehbar macht wie kaum ein anderer. Mit den beiden Neuerwerbungen läutet das #MuseumBarberini zugleich das Jubiläumsjahr des Impressionismus ein, der vor 150 Jahren begründet wurde. Welcome to Potsdam!
