Spotlight on Tung – Sales Manager at NeoTaste 🚀 Since November 2023, Tung Anh Nguyen has been part of our team as a Sales Manager. “I came across a NeoTaste ad while scrolling through Instagram. As a passionate foodie, I was instantly curious. A few days later, I spotted a job posting for a Sales Manager in Leipzig. What started as a spontaneous application turned into a full-time position, thanks to the support of Lisa Piewek and Lars Osterloh. Now, I’m excited to be part of the team!” What makes your job at NeoTaste special? “My work takes me to cities I might never have visited otherwise. Each city has its own charm, and I love getting to know the locals. I’ve already worked in cities like Dresden, Magdeburg, Halle, and Kassel – and Kassel impressed me so much that I’m planning a vacation there next year! The people were incredibly open and helpful, which made my work easier." "One of my favorite parts of the job is helping Vietnamese restaurant owners. Thanks to my native language, I can support them in taking their businesses to the next level. Many face challenges, whether due to language barriers or lack of time for marketing. That’s where I come in: I provide them with practical tools and act as a long-term partner. It’s great to see these partnerships grow and to further connect with the Vietnamese community through my work.” Fun fact about Tung: “I’m always on the road with my dog and a rice cooker. Today in the Spotlight: Bastian Fischer – our new iOS Engineer 🚀 Since September, 2024, Bastian Fischer has been a valuable member of our team. “I’ve been using NeoTaste privately because I love dining out, and I really like the concept of the app. When I saw the opening for an iOS Engineer, I knew right away: This is my chance! After the first discussions, it became clear to me: NeoTaste fits me – and I fit NeoTaste!” What does Bastian do at NeoTaste? His typical day starts with an espresso while sifting through Slack messages and emails. “I like to use the morning calm to catch up on various iOS topics. After the team standup, it’s on to meetings and coding sessions. Since I work remotely, I love meeting colleagues in cafés or coworking spaces. It brings fresh inspiration, especially when the code isn’t cooperating!” What does he love most about his department?  “The dynamism of the team! We communicate quickly and efficiently. I enjoy developing exciting features for an app that I use myself. The opportunity to actively shape the app’s future motivates me immensely.” Tips for others starting in this field? “Educate yourself! Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and be patient, even when you get stuck on a problem.” Fun fact about Bastian: “I have 7 colorful caps that I rotate depending on my mood. Spotlight Today: Wai Man – Social Media and Content Manager for the UK 🚀 Since June 2024, Wai Man Law has been an essential part of our team as the UK Social Media and Content Manager. "My journey to NeoTaste started last year. I had been creating content for various brands across social media – from lifestyle to beauty to food, and even pet care! One day, I stumbled upon a NeoTaste ad on Instagram, and for the first time in a while, I was genuinely excited about a new role and company. I knew I had to be part of the team!" What does Wai Man do at NeoTaste? On content creation days, Wai Man travels to partner restaurants in Manchester or Birmingham. Armed with her phone, tripod, mic, and a hairbrush, she arrives ready to shoot. She chats with the team, decides on dishes to feature, and finds the best lighting. On the train ride back, she uploads and edits videos while wrapping up scripts and emails. What does she love about her job? "I love being part of the Growth Team because everyone is passionate about growing NeoTaste into the best food discovery app. There's so much room for creativity, and no two days are the same." Do you have any professional tips or advice for someone starting in your field? "Preparation is key! If you want to succeed in social media and content creation, always plan ahead. Sure, pack your tripod and mic, but don’t forget to script your shots and stalk existing content to know what great content looks like at your shooting location." A funny story from her first days at NeoTaste: "In my second week, I was shooting at a beautiful brunch spot. The chef brought out a burger topped with what I thought was a cute little red pepper – I saved it for last. Spoiler: It was a fiery red chilli. One bite, and my lips swelled up like I'd had a budget lip job... but only on one side!" Das Geschäftsmodell fand ich sofort spannend und sah großes Potenzial in der Lösung, die NeoTaste bietet. Überzeugt von der Idee, habe ich mich beworben. Nach ein paar Gesprächen mit Hendrik über mögliche Aufgaben ging alles sehr schnell.“ Wie sieht ein Tag bei dir aus? „Einen typischen Tag gibt es in meiner Rolle nicht, da die Aufgaben so vielseitig sind. Meine Rolle verändert sich ständig. Das gibt mir die Möglichkeit, mich in unterschiedliche Themen einzuarbeiten. Genau diese Abwechslung macht die Arbeit so spannend. Es gibt immer neue Herausforderungen, die kreative Lösungen erfordern.“ Was liebst du an deinem Job? „Ich liebe den engen Austausch und die Unterstützung im Team. Es gibt immer jemanden, der einem weiterhelfen kann, wenn man auf ein Problem stößt. Nachdem ich nach einer neuen Herausforderung suchte, sprach mich eine Recruiterin an. Schon im ersten Gespräch haben wir uns verstanden, und beim zweiten Gespräch hat es dann gefunkt.“ Was macht Kathi bei NeoTaste? Sie startet ihren Tag mit Slack-Updates, um über Neuigkeiten informiert zu bleiben. Danach prüft sie den Content-Plan, plant Mailings, Push-Benachrichtigungen und Kampagnen. Ihre Aufgaben umfassen die strategische Planung von CRM-Maßnahmen, die Optimierung von Programmen und die Gestaltung der User Journey. Außerdem arbeitet sie eng mit dem Product-Team zusammen, um kontinuierlich Verbesserungen umzusetzen. Was liebst Du an Deinem Job? „Die Flexibilität und die positiven Vibes im Team. Während meines Auslandssemesters in Barcelona stieß ich auf eine Stellenausschreibung auf LinkedIn. Die Position klang so spannend, dass ich mich sofort beworben habe – und jetzt bin ich hier!“ Was macht Eda bei NeoTaste? Ihr Tag beginnt mit einer To-Do-Liste, gefolgt von E-Mails und Calls mit Creatorn und Managern, um neue Kooperationen zu planen. „Mit der Zeit durfte ich immer mehr Verantwortung übernehmen und konnte den UK- und Wien-Launch mitgestalten. Dabei habe ich viel über Influencer-Marketing in verschiedenen Ländern gelernt.“ Was liebt sie an ihrer Arbeit? „Das großartige Teamwork und die offene Kommunikation, die Raum für neue Ideen bietet.
