The Polish fleet includes various types of bikes such as e-bikes, cargo bikes or pedal bikes.  One region that has recently impressed with great facts and figures is the GZM region. More than 7,000 bikes have been made available to the inhabitants of 31 cities in the region. But it is not just about the numbers, it's about the millions of stories and about adventures that our Polish partners have shared with us for over a decade. 🚲 🎉 Tender win alert: L’aventure française de nextbike continue ! The Mulhouse region in Alsace will join the nextbike family as of spring 2025. Initially, nextbike will operate a scheme that will comprise roughly 640 of our latest e-bikes that will be made available across 64 stations. With this scheme, over 8 municipalities within the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération will become part of the new bike sharing network. And the best part: The service will be seamlessly integrated into the public transportation network via the region's MaaS platform. We are very much looking forward to complementing Mulhouse’s holistic public transport network and to working with our new partners Ville de Mulhouse and Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération m2A. Almost three years ago, we launched our very first bike share scheme in Italy! 🚲 Since then, LaBiGi has been complementing the public transport network of Comune di Bergamo. Its multimodal fleet comprises 390 of our latest pedal bikes and 20 e-bikes, offering sustainable and accessible mobility solutions to the city’s inhabitants and visitors. Running in partnership with the local public transport operator ATB Azienda Trasporti Bergamo, the scheme is a great example of how bike sharing can be seamlessly integrated into local public transport. The positive response from users speaks volumes: We’ve seen an increase of rides by 20% over the past few months compared to 2023! 🎊 And there’s even more good news: holders of an annual public transport subscription now enjoy 100 free LaBiGi rides, making travel around Bergamo even more convenient. We are very thankful to our trusted partners from ATB Azienda Trasporti Bergamo and our colleagues for bringing this new feature to life! Ever since our nextbikes started rolling through Bergamo, we’ve successfully expanded to two more Italian cities: Senigallia and Mondolfo, adding to our growing network. We are excited to see what the future holds!

Launch alert: Our nextbikes have just hit the streets of yet another Spanish city. As of 13 September 2024, 250 of our latest pedal bikes and 50 electric bicycles have been made available in Logroño, the capital of the northern Spanish province La Rioja. With nextbike BiciLOG we are providing a station based mobility solution that will complement the city’s public transportation network. Cycling booms in Cologne: Our KVB Rad scheme hits 10 million rentals We are delighted to share the news of our latest milestone from Cologne. Since the launch of the KVB Rad scheme in 2021, our fleet of 3,000 bikes has been rented an astonishing 10 million times! This achievement is a testament to the hard work of the Cologne team and the Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG (KVB). We congratulate them on achieving this amazing success! The KVB Rad has truly transformed urban mobility in Cologne, and we are excited to see what the future holds. Have you ever heard of MV Rad?  It is one of our license schemes and it has already been running for as long as 15 years now. The umbrella brand MV Rad comprises the four bike share schemes UsedomRad, Stadtrad Greifswald and Pedelec Power Usedom providing sustainable mobility solutions for the beautiful north-eastern part of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In sum, MV Rad consists of more than 3,000 bikes, including 100 cargo bikes many of which with electric support, and 500 e-bikes with swappable batteries. The offer’s multimodality has proven to be an important factor for the touristic region, ensuring that there are bikes available year around for every need. Which is why the schemes continue to thrive, only last year MV Rad recorded more than 60,000 rentals, and this year it seems to be off to even more success! But that is not all, MV Rad is also set to further expand its presence in the region. Γεια σας! 👋 nextbike has just entered the Greek market for the very first time! 🚲 🎊 With the launch of Bike Sharing Elliniko, we have now brought our bike sharing solutions, to the outskirts of Athens. The franchise scheme in Elliniko initially comprises roughly 50 of our latest e-bikes across 7 stations - perfect for commute and leisure. While the launch of Elliniko marks the first time nextbike’s bike share solutions are made available in Greece, it will not remain the only scheme for long. No cars, just fun and creativity! In our hometown Leipzig, this year's #EuropeanMobilityWeek ended with a special blast. On the occasion of #CarFreeDay, the “Ring”, one of the city’s main roads circling the whole city center, was closed for motorized traffic. Instead, the street was repurposed into a shared communal space. We also participated and brought our nextbike frames to be redesigned by the public in collaboration with a local artist - and the results exceeded all expectations. Each of the frames turned into a marvelous piece of art, that will become a very special highlight on our Leipzig streets. Seeing the street full of people instead of cars only and using public space for alternative activities and projects - showed vividly the potential of people centered infrastructure planning. Nobody will ban all cars, but we very much hope that fairly #SharedPublicSpace will soon become a reality and not just the motto for one week. #BikeSharing #SustainableMobility #EMW2024 

nextbike goes Portuguese! 🎉 🚲 With the launch of the public bike share scheme tuba bike for the city of Barcelos, nextbike has now officially landed in Portugal as well. Last week, 200 of our modern pedal bikes have hit the streets of Barcelos. Initially distributed across around 50 virtual stations, the system can easily be adapted to the needs of users and expanded accordingly. In addition, tuba bike will be integrated into the local public transport system, making it easily accessible to the public. A well-thought-out system that will enrich the city's sustainable mobility offering and thus contribute to the transport revolution in Barcelos. This is an exciting start in a new market, and we are very much looking forward to the collaboration with our Portuguese partners and the next projects to come.
