Our Key Account Executive in North America, Steve Maisonet, recently had the chance to attend the CFCA Cal Chiefs Conference in Costa Mesa, California. This annual event by the California Fire Chiefs Association allows fire agencies from around the state to gather, coordinate, and discuss mutual problems in their specific counties and areas. In an age of increasingly more screens between us, this conference was a time to introduce, connect, and catch up. So much of the fire industry is all about relationships—trust is built face-to-face, not through emails or calls. These in-person connections are what drive real progress, building trust in fire situations that demand it. The conversations here are what turn introductions into partnerships. We are super excited to be coming from this event and already ready for next year. A huge thank you to the California Fire Chiefs Association for the invite! I have heard a lot about the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah and its stunning views, and I have always wanted to visit 🏞️. So, it was really sad to hear about the Yellow Lake Fire, which has already burned over 31,000 acres there. What a beautiful place is facing this devastation... I have been watching the fire using the OroraTech platform. I started by tracking the first hotspots and running simulations to see how the fire was expected to spread. Now, I am looking at the damage to the vegetation in the area. And, of course, all of these products will profit from more frequent updates when our first plane of eight OroraTech satellites goes online in 2025.
