    🕒 Long hours: How to work smarter 🕒   Feeling overwhelmed by long hours? You’re not alone. A recent Eurostat survey found that workweeks across Europe vary widely, with some countries enjoying more balance. The working weeks ranged from an average 39.8 hours in Greece to just 32.2 hours in the Netherlands.   But should we really be working more, or do we want to work smarter? Long hours can lead to burnout, so managing your time to get everything done without spending your whole day at the office should be the goal. Here are five small ways to optimise your time:   📅 Set strict work hours: Create a schedule and stick to it. Defining a clear end to your day and enjoying downtime guilt-free will help prevent burnout.   📝 Break tasks into smaller steps: Tackle large projects by dividing them into smaller, manageable tasks.   🎯 Focus on priorities: Identify your most important tasks and focus on those first. This can help you achieve more while your energy is high.   🏃 Take regular movement breaks: Get up, stretch, or take a quick walk. These breaks can reduce fatigue and keep you energised throughout the day.   🚫 Limit multitasking: Doing one task at a time is usually more efficient.     🤒 Going to work sick? Don't let presenteeism win! 🤒   With the start of the fall season, colds, the flu, and other seasonal infections are once again becoming more common. Just like every year, many people ask themselves: when am I too sick to go to work?   Maybe you do not want to let coworkers down, or maybe your workplace pressures you to make tight deadlines: the fact is, a high number of workers will come to the office when they should take time to recover. This phenomenon, called presenteeism, can have several negative effects for you and your team:   🤧 Lower productivity: Working sick affects both the quantity and quality of work. Sick employees are not only slower, but also make more mistakes. 🦠 Risk of infection: Ill workers who still come into the office can infect others. This causes the whole team's productivity to decline. ❤️ Long-term health consequences: If employees work while they are sick, their health can get worse over time. They don't get the rest they need to recover.   So, what should you do?   🛑 Know your limits: If you don’t want to miss a whole day, work from home to rest your body, while still getting things done. 🛑 Listen to your body: Value your health. When you cannot work, do not force anything.     🌟 What a success! 🌟   On the weekend, we reached the goal of our “OVB Charity Run & Hike Challenge 2024”. Our 11 teams from OVB Holding and OVB Vermögensberatung AG have been able to collect over 42,000 active minutes so far, which means the donation of 10,000 euros for our partner Off Road Kids Stiftung is secured! Thank you to everyone who participated! You are great! 🤩   This does not mean we should lose our sporting spirit though, as the challenge continues until October 9.
