This clinical video shows Hybrid-FTRD® in action. Dr. Mende from the Sana Klinikum Berlin Lichtenberg started with the EMR-technique to remove the parts of the lesion with lifting sign. Afterwards, the non-lifting part of the adenoma was resected with the FTRD®. You can clearly see the white ring, which serves as a visual aid as to when the clip has been placed. After the target area has been securely closed with the clip, resection takes place.  In this case, histology showed an adenoma with focal HGIEN. The follow-up after 3 months showed no recurrence.   The combination of EMR and FTRD® allows for the resection of larger lesions, thus expanding the capabilities of the system. #Ovesco #FTRD #Endoscopy

Zusammenarbeit Tübinger Unternehmen und KI ganz konkret: Auf Einladung der Ovesco Endoscopy AG konnte ich mir heute ein gemeinsames Entwicklungsprojekt der Ovesco und der Maddox AI ansehen. Beide Unternehmen haben das auf dem Foto abgebildete System zur Qualitätskontrolle entwickelt. Das System erkennt mittels KI gesteuerter Bildauswertung Fehler oder Verunreinigungen in der Verpackung. Das ist beim anschließenden Einsatz der Produkte des Medizintechnikunternehmens am bzw. im Patienten extrem wichtig. Janina Mezger und Dr. Martin Eschelbach haben erläutert, wie sie das System auf eine gut zweistellige Zahl von Fehlerarten erfolgreich trainiert haben. Letztlich erhöht das System die Zuverlässigkeit in der Qualitätskontrolle, die Produktivität der Mitarbeiter und schafft personelle Kapazitäten an anderer Stelle. Eine prima Kooperation zweier Tübinger Firmen aus unseren exzellenten Clustern Medizintechnik und AI! Hervorgehoben haben beide Unternehmen die kurzen Wege innerhalb Tübingens. This year, we are celebrating 10 years of FTRD®, which allows endoscopic full-thickness resection. FTRD® is used by endoscopists worldwide. Professor Dr. Arthur Schmidt from the Robert Bosch Hospital in Germany was one of the first users of the FTRD® and has done important clinical research on the device.
