ENDZEIT is on. 🌋🌊
Today is a Great Day: Kick-off for Our Upcoming Roguelite City Builder ENDZEIT! 🌋🌊 We are thrilled to announce that we've received financial support in the form of a €100,000 recoupable loan from Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) to develop a vertical slice for our project ENDZEIT. About ENDZEIT: ENDZEIT is a Strategy Survival Roguelite Game where players settle on dying planets to gather resources to support their home world. Today, not only did we enjoy a lovely brunch, but we also kicked off the first step in our development process: Game Jams! 🧩️ To test our hypotheses, we’re using the dynamic Game Jam format. Over one week of focused work, we create a small, duct-tape-and-love version of the game. This process provides invaluable insights into whether our initial idea is fun and feasible. In this case, we will do a second game jam after the first one, to use the learnings of the first one in our favour. Our goal is to really understand the core of the fun/experience that we're trying to achieve to drastically improve the vertical slice production phase outcome. For this reason, we will be publishing the results of the second game jam on Itch.io and gather player feedback! Game Jams are fantastic, and here's what I love about them: 🧩️ Quick iterative workflow - just throw together assets you have and see if your idea of the game works. Is the mechanic really fun? Will the game work without a massive scope? 🧩️ Get early Feedback - just publishing your work on itch.io is a great way to see if your concept is interesting to players. Do people click on and play our project? How many people give feedback? To people, save your project for later? 🧩️ Technical Benchmark - Can you actually create your vision? If you fail to create your core concept in a game jam, you might have trouble bringing it together in production, too! 🧩️ Fun! Gamejams are just fun and a great way to get creative. A great time lies ahead of us! We’ll be attending Devcom and Gamescom in Cologne from Sunday to Friday. If you’d like to learn more about the project or stay updated on our progress, reach out. 😊 See you in Cologne, Cheers! PS: I'm a bit blurry but very happy for sure! 😁
