Exciting News! Photonics Foundry GmbH and MPI Corporation are joining forces in #photonics! We're launching a customer experience center for MPI’s advanced photonics #wafer and die test solutions in Bremen Germany. Today, we sealed this commitment with an MoU - what better place than #PhotonicsWest? As the photonic industry evolves, #testing and validating #PICs (photonic integrated circuit) dies before assembly is be crucial. With 80% of costs still tied to optical back-end #packaging, selecting known good dies is a must. These test capabilities are now available to you!

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks. We are growing - Photonics Foundry is expanding its capacity and capabilities!   Jens Oldenburg has joined our team recently!   He enriches our hands-on team in the clean room with his outstanding and proven expertise in active alignment of LIDAR, HPLD, Transceiver/Receiver, optical fibers and fiber arrays, and automation of various optical products.   Welcome Jens!

We all learned the importance of closing deals. As of today, the deal is official and we proudly welcome microfab Service GmbH as a shareholder at Photonics Foundry. Whereas microfab is responsible for processing wafers until singulation, Photonics Foundry is well-positioned to provide backend packaging for #MEMS and #photonic products. “The collaboration is based on congruent business models and a common understanding of sustainable service. We are a MEMS foundry with over 25 years of experience. While we do not own products ourselves, we have a deep understanding of the processes required to produce them to the highest possible quality. This is the same approach and mindset we found at Photonics Foundry"- said Thomas Stärz, co-founder of the microfab Service GmbH. In addition to contract-based packaging, we also offer other services such as active alignment, prototype builds, (optic) design for automation and technology transfer from our headquarters in Bremen.
