🏆 Looking back on a successful 2024 Formula Student Season As the Formula Student season wraps up, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of the teams and look forward to the next chapter. Porsche Engineering in the Czech Republic is proud to support the eForce team from the Technical University in Prague and the Formula team of the Technical University in Ostrava. This season was a milestone for both teams: Prague’s team secured top placements in Efficiency, Engineering Design, and for their Business Plan – and took an impressive 3rd place at the Hockenheimring race! Meanwhile, Ostrava's team excelled in endurance and acceleration: Their latest vehicle was highly reliable and matched the speed of the fastest combustion-engine teams. Fostering the Next Generation: BOGY Week at Porsche Engineering! 🚀 Five days filled with new insights, challenges, and hands-on experience – our BOGY interns (a career orientation program for high school students) had the opportunity to dive into various fields of Porsche Engineering. From systems integration to body systems development and soldering their own circuit boards, they saw firsthand how innovative technologies are developed and even experienced the thrill of riding in the passenger seat in our vehicles to see these technologies in action. In an interactive marketing workshop, they presented their own communication concepts for real-life scenarios – a fantastic way to bring creative ideas to life. Inspiring Insights: Porsche Engineering’s Research at ITSC 🚗🔬 Porsche Engineering was featured at this year's ITSC (IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems) with five exciting contributions. Our research covered various aspects of virtual validation for automated driving functions, including re-simulation, modeling of vehicle lateral behavior, and 3D reconstruction of traffic signs. These studies enhance the realism and accuracy of simulations. Moreover, a data-driven approach for optimizing control unit functions in thermal management was presented, which shortens development times and conserves resources. Inclusion meets Motorsport: MotorTherapy 2024 🏁🏎️ This year, Nardò Technical Center (NTC) once again teamed up with the MotoClub Salentum Terrae to support MotorTherapy – an event that provides people with disabilities the chance to experience motorsport in an inclusive environment. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy a lap around the racetrack, riding alongside professional drivers in sports cars.
