👉 Our Infrastructure Debt team shares its views on current market developments again in its quarterly newsletter, including these topics: ➟ In the first half of 2024, there were 1,347 transactions worth USD 439 billion, the lowest level of activity in H1 of the last 3 years. The 17% decrease in transaction volume and the slight decrease in monetary value compared to H1 2023 can be attributed to geopolitical and macroeconomic stress factors. Rising interest rates and inflation, supply chain disruptions and global conflicts have negatively impacted the infrastructure market, resulting in lower investor confidence and cautious investment spending 📊 ➟ Despite the general downturn, the energy and transport sectors recorded stronger growth of 6% and 7% respectively compared to the same quarter last year. The renewable energy and energy sectors experienced a slight decrease and suffered from the general market conditions with declines of -5% and -7% respectively 🍃🚊 ➟ At USD 9.2 billion, the largest deal in the first half of the year was the investment by DigitalBridge Group and Silver Lake in Vantage Data Centers in June 2024. ➟ The leverage ratio for H1 2024 is 66% (capital markets: 14%, loans: 52%), with USD 288.6 billion of the total transaction value financed by debt, compared to 61% and USD 276.2 billion in H1 2023 📈 #infrastruktur #infrastructuredebt #energytransition #privatedebt

👉 Our latest European Real Estate Debt newsletter is out! 🆕 The highlights of this edition are: ➟ In the 1st quarter of 2024, the European property market recorded a transaction volume of EUR 37.2 billion, an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous year. ➟ After an almost comparable situation in the previous quarters, yields for whole loan and junior financing remained at a high level. The same applies to LTVs and LTCs.
