Expert #exchange: On October 1st, RENK CEO Susanne Wiegand spoke at the Berlin Global Dialogue, hosted by the leading Berlin-based business university, ESMT Berlin. Together with Karen Florschütz, Head of Connected Intelligence at Airbus Defense and Space, and Benedikta von Seherr-Thoss, Managing Director for Peace, Security, and Defence at the European External Action Service, Susanne Wiegand discussed the geopolitical situation and the future of European #defense and security policy. The discussion focused on the question of what measures need to be taken to achieve a European Defense Union

⭐ Susanne Wiegand is member of the Female Allstar Board 2024 ⭐ She is described as “clear and strategic,” “pragmatic, reliable, and unpretentious,” simply “a force of nature” — impressive words like these were spoken last night during an emotional award ceremony in Essen, where our CEO Susanne Wiegand was inducted into the “Female Allstar Board 2024.” Laudator Doreen Nowotne praised her “incredible strength,” her “infectious energy,” and her “absolute groundedness,” speaking of an “admirable woman who has so much to offer.” The award was presented as part of the “Female Allstar Board” initiative, launched by Handelsblatt and Bain & Company, which aims to provide a platform for women in #leadership positions. Each year, five top female executives in Germany are recognized. To drive societal change, role models who lead by example are often needed: Susanne Wiegand herself expressed gratitude for the honor and pride in her career path: “I have sought and carved out my own path. ⚓ IPD visits Incheon ⚓ The German frigate “Baden-Württemberg” and the replenishment ship “Frankfurt am Main” – representing the German Navy – have arrived in Incheon as part of the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2024 (#IPD2024). The stop in South Korea was an excellent opportunity for us at RENK to showcase our latest industrial solutions to partners and customers. During a reception on the frigate, guests were able to see an outstanding RENK gearbox on board. They were also impressed by a tour of the engine room, where a RENK CODLAG gearbox – representing the complex and specialized hybrid #propulsion system – was shown in detail. South Korea is a vital partner for Germany in the Indo-Pacific, with strong #collaboration in politics, #business, and science. We are pleased to have been part of this visit and we would like to extend our gratitude to the German Embassy and the German Navy for their dedicated support.
