👀 Detecting torquing sequences to improve safety powered by computer vision ‼️ Deep-learning algorithms to enable video analytics. Smart tool 🤓 enabled by unique identifier and torque setting managed by a supervisory system. The computer vision detects proper sequence, among other things, and communicates & displays this. In parallel the smart tool is communicating the torque value achieved. The best approach is of course having a drawing according to approved international standards. 🔎 A really common one on this is the ISO 128 series. Yes, this is another case where you have multiple "sub standards" within the same series. 🥸 The thing is though: even with a conformant drawing, you still need someone "on the other side" that understands what is shown. So, we're essentially at adequate training again. 😅 I'm not sure though, if that would have helped in this particular case, to be absolutely honest.

🤖 Robotics Friday 🤖 ❗ Robots in the Beauty Salon❗ LUUM has introduced a robot that assists with eyelash extensions! This robotic system collaborates with a lash artist to speed up the custom eyelash application process. The procedure starts with the lash artist prepping the client’s lashes, cleaning them, and applying under-eye and eyelid patches with barcodes for the robot to read. The robot then isolates each lash while a second robot selects the extensions, dips them in glue, and places them onto the isolated lashes. The robot’s lightweight arms are designed to safely detach if touched by the client. It can apply 25 lashes per eye, with the lash artist completing the rest to ensure a customized look.
