The Dante-inspired 25hours Hotel in Florence offers either hell- or heaven-themed rooms, so I took it as a good sign when I was assigned “heaven room” 101 (!) for the International Bar Association annual antitrust conference. Indeed, the conference lived up to high expectations, with a lively keynote speech by Margrethe Vestager, as well as interesting panels on, inter alia, merger control, robots, and the “holy grail” case of the year. Finally, I also enjoyed the new location for drinks and, of course, catching up with friends and colleagues from around the world. 🎉 We celebrated our third birthday yesterday, with a cake - or more a piece of art - kindly gifted by our old friend Yevgen. It has been an amazing three years that went by much faster, fun and successful than we could have imagined. What a pleasant surprise! Following last year's nomination as best new law firm, JUVE Verlag nominated ROCAN in the category Antitrust Law Firm of the Year for this year's Juve awards. We are very proud and happy for what is an achievement of our whole team! While we shared some champagne amongst the team already today, we are looking forward to a great celebration in October with our co-nominees: Baker McKenzie, Buntscheck Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH and Clifford Chance. Tobias is always in a good mood, but with sunny weather, a great round of last 16 game in Duesseldorf in sight and a good read in the afternoon, his grin was even wider than usual. Today the Rocan office was again the site for a professional photoshooting, as a new associate starting in July got pictures taken. We are very happy about our (additional) reinforcement and the growth of our team.
