The September image of the SCHOTTEL calendar 2024 features the Edda Fortis. The vessel is a state-of-the-art purpose-built mono-hull flotel, designed for high-quality flotel services. It has an advanced telescopic motion-compensated gangway system that provides safe and easy access to and from offshore installations and can accommodate 800 people in a “home away from home”. The propulsion system of the Edda Fortis consists of six SCHOTTEL RudderPropeller type SRP 730 U (3800 kW each). The vessel also utilizes SCHOTTEL’s data acquisition and IoT Gateway solution MariHub. It was built by South Korean shipyard HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan and is managed and operated by Norwegian Østensjø Rederi. Jan Helge Telseth, Managing Director at SCHOTTEL Norway: “Offshore accommodation vessels are floating hotels which stay in direct proximity to offshore structures. They require precise manoeuvring and stable positioning to safely transfer personnel to offshore installations. The SCHOTTEL RudderPropeller provides the necessary manoeuvrability and thrust for this task.” Learn more about SCHOTTEL thrusters and marine services at https://lnkd.in/dMW3hdmZ
