Welcome to our new trainees of 2024!  In Germany the first working day in September is a changing day for lots of school graduates. They start their first day of apprenticeship in German companies. We also welcomed our new trainees today and showed them arround at our Nuremberg site, so they could meet their trainers from the different departments and worked as a team to create a presentation poster for our foyer as well.    During their apprenticeship every trainee will stay within all company departments for a period to learn all about the functions, tasks and targets. Semikron Danfoss hosted a distinguished delegation from South Korea to our site in Flensburg. The delegation included politicians from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, representatives from the Jeollanam-do State government, research institute members (Green Energy Institute), and many company representatives from the Jeollanam-do region.   The visit, which had been organized by Fraunhofer ISIT, was part of the "Jeonnam DC Industry Global Innovation Zone" project. It aims to promote international collaboration and innovation. Jeollanam-do, much like Schleswig-Holstein, has extensive coastal areas and a strong focus on renewable energy.   During the visit, the delegation received an insightful company overview and factory tour as well as valuable information about our product portfolio and advanced technology. Thanks to everyone of our awesome team for hosting this special event.

Congratulations to our Students Awards winners. 🥳 Eight students from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg once again received the Semikron Danfoss Award for their outstanding achievements in electrical engineering and materials science. In addition, we again presented the Womens Bachelor Award in Electrical Engineering. We would like to thank the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg for the opportunity to present the awards at both events and look forward to welcoming the students to our company site in Nuremberg in the near future.

Like PCIM Europe, which takes place annually in Nuremberg in Germany, the PCIM event in China is an international meeting ground for specialists in power electronics. Of course we are also on site with our products and experts from August 28 - 30, 2024 at booth 11-E16. Before our employees enjoyed their summer vacation in Germany, they showed their sportive performances: In Flensburg our team took part in the “Lauf zwischen den Meeren“(“Run between the Seas”), which runs from Husum and Damp along the coast of the North and Baltic Seas. The participants master the run between the seas together as a team by crossing various sections of the run. This offers a very special feeling of team spirit and we are proud of all the participants who complete the distance together. Our team also made an amazing 28th place of 280 in the company ranking. 🎉 In Nuremberg this year’s B2Run was off to a good start with a lot of sunshine and 85 highly motivated runners from Semikron Danfoss. Oliver Tzschoppe made it to the 8th  place in the overall ranking of 14,000 participants with his time of 18:56 minutes for the whole 6.1 km. Also Dominic Birkicht and Christian Heldauer set motivating standards for the rest of our runners. The fastest woman from our team was Simone Bächer who outran a lot of her male teammates. 👏 All in all, we congratulate everyone who took part in these events for the Semikron Danfoss team. It was a strong athletic performance.

We are excited to share that Semikron Danfoss will have a new president on September 1, 2024. Dr. Dominic Dorfner, our current SVP and Head of Automotive Division will take over from Claus Petersen. Claus is retiring and joining the Semikron Danfoss Board after 26 years of leading Semikron Danfoss and Danfoss Silicon Power – and more than 40 years in Danfoss.
