n October 2023, we successfully delivered and commissioned two new Multi-Plate® filters to Speira. These pre-assembled units, transported as ready-to-install systems, were seamlessly integrated into Speira’s rolling oil system in under three weeks, thanks to our innovative Plug & Work solution. Following a flawless five-week trial with zero failures, we received the final acceptance. Our Multi-Plate® filters are setting the industry gold standard with optimized design and flow-enhancements, ensuring superior filtering performance. Speira now operates six of these advanced filters, significantly boosting their production capacity for #aluminum foil and beverage can stock. Health checks are a very good thing - for people as well as for plants. The concept of the mill health check is to provide an overall evaluation of the conditions from different aspects like process stability, maintenance, electrics and automation, digital tools, mechanics, and hydraulics. That's what we did at the CSP plant of Steel Dynamics, Inc in Butler, Indiana. From there, we leveraged the experience gained on the broad installed basis of our equipment in several locations and provided detailed reports with the goal of increasing the performance of their equipment and production. Recommendations for short, mid and long-term actions are made where we leverage our strengths and synergies within our Integrated Services to support our customers as a lifecycle partner. Revolutionizing battery recycling ⚡🔋 Mercedes-Benz AG has officially opened Europe’s first integrated battery recycling plant in Kuppenheim, powered by Primobius’ groundbreaking technology — a true game-changer for sustainable mobility. 🌍♻️ The facility, designed by our joint venture Primobius, uses cutting-edge technology to recover high-purity, low-carbon battery materials, enough to produce more than 50,000 new electric vehicle battery modules each year! 🚗🔄 At the opening, leaders including Olaf Scholz and Ola Källenius were joined by SMS group representatives Thomas Hansmann, Hans Ferkel and Marc A. Hoffmann. Dr. Michel Siemon, CEO of Primobius captures that this breakthrough recycling solution puts Mercedes-Benz at the forefront of sustainable innovation in the automotive industry: “Together, we will generate high-purity, low-carbon footprint battery materials for reuse in the battery supply chain. The goal: to significantly boost capacity and produce high-strength, thin-gauge strip on a state-of-the-art tandem Steckel mill. Key highlights of the project include new Steckel furnaces for efficient temperature control and the innovative CVC® plus technology, which will greatly enhance strip quality.
