The firm provides software development services for startups as well as SMEs that are looking to build or scale their teams. In less than two years, we have proudly served more than 15 clients, with their innovative projects in different industries.     5 ways how to hire a developer as a non-technical founder From the easiest to the hardest 𝟭. 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟬 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁) The easiest way to hire a developer, if you have 𝗻𝗼 CTO, 𝗻𝗼 technical advisor, 𝗻𝗼 friend who is a developer; is to simply talk to at least 10 developers. The more the better. Talking to 10 potential developers will give you: a) Practice b) Refiniment on what you are looking for c) A benchmark to compare against Talking to 10 developers will not make you a technical expert. But it will give you the repetitons and the experience on what to look for and what to ask, better than if you just talk to 1 or 2. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁: Your time 𝟮. 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 Asking your friend to join the interview is the is the 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 and 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀𝘁 way to inject 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 expertise into the process. It also serves as a strong filter for assessing actual proficiency and the hard skills required for building. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁: buying your friend a beer aftewards. 3. Work with an agency People think that an agency can only help with software development. However, here at Softup Technologies GmbH we have also helped client interview developers that were needed in-house. Agencies have often interviewed thousands of developers and they have hired hundreds. They definitely have the expertise to interview and recruit good developers. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁: a few 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘥 $ 𝟰. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗧𝗢 Working with a Fractional CTO means that they will be more invested, they will take more time to understand your vision and product. A fractional CTO will be more entrenched into the ethos of your company and will therefore, look for not just hard skills but to really build a cohesive team. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁: a few 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥 $ 𝟱. 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗖𝗧𝗢 Hiring a CTO is the most comprehensive and long-term solution, but it’s also the hardest and most expensive. A CTO is not just a technical expert but a strategic leader who will define your technology roadmap, make key architectural decisions, and build and manage your entire development team. If you’re serious about scaling your business and technology is at the core of your product, hiring a CTO early can set a strong foundation. However, finding the right CTO as a non-technical founder can be challenging. You need someone who not only has technical expertise but also aligns with your vision, understands the business side, and can lead a team effectively.     I spoke at the graduation ceremony (Fall Batch) at Founder Institute Berlin / Germany last night. It has been an honor to be a tech partner for such an amazing group of founders. It was great to see what each founder has achieved in just a couple of months. From +300 applicants 35 Founders enrolled and only 12 were able to graduate.
