Rocket Lab Set to Launch Kinéis’ Second of Five Missions🚀 Rocket Lab has announced the launch window for its 53rd Electron mission, set to begin on September 17, 2024, NZST. This mission, the second of five dedicated launches for French company Kinéis, Inc., will deploy from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand. The 'Kinéis Killed the RadIOT Star' mission will enhance Kinéis' ability to connect objects worldwide with low-energy nanosats, supporting IoT technology and expanding their ship-tracking capabilities. Sentinel-2C Launches Aboard Final Vega Rocket Launch🚀 Today, Copernicus Sentinel-2C successfully launched aboard the final Vega rocket, marking a new chapter in high-resolution optical imagery for land, water, and atmospheric monitoring. Replacing Sentinel-2A, this latest addition together with Sentinel-2B and eventually Sentinel-2D, will cover all of Earth’s land and coastal waters every five days. This launch also marks the retirement of the Vega rocket after 12 years of service, paving the way for the upgraded Vega-C. SSC Receives Next-Gen OPIR Payload for Geo Earth Orbit🛰️ Space Systems Command, in partnership with Lockheed Martin Space and Raytheon Technologies, has successfully delivered NGG-1, the first mission payload for the Next-Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (Next-Gen OPIR) program.
