L: "I was very excited as I chose to study "Packaging Technology and Sustainability" in Leipzig. Shortly before that, I was able to celebrate the promotion of my volleyball team to the regional league, which for me was the highlight of my long volleyball career so far. In 2023, I then had the opportunity to complete an internship in packaging technology at STABILO. I'm now writing my bachelor's thesis here. There and through my degree course, I have the opportunity to fully express my creativity and actively contribute to the promotion of sustainable packaging solutions." 📢 Q: What advice would you give your 15-year-old self? L: "Don't try to pretend. It's the moments when you show yourself authentically that will ultimately get you ahead." 📖 Q: What would be the title of your autobiography? L: "Crazy but determined through life: A Handbook for Elegantly Navigating Absolute Chaos." 🎨 Q: What is your source of inspiration? L: "Along the way, I've realized that everyday things have the greatest meaning in life. 🚂We are excited and immensely proud to share that our "Little Locomotive" display, lovingly called "LiLo", has been honored with the German Packaging Award! 🎉 Our creative International Trade Marketing Team has once again crafted a vibrant cardboard floor display that turns the placement of our children's coloring and drawing products into a real eye-catcher. "LiLo" especially brings smiles to the faces of our young customers. 😊 Not only is our display versatile and easy to fill, but it also makes a fantastic decoration for events, shop windows, and promotional areas. The winners will be honored at the FACHPACK fair on September 24th in Nuremberg. Additionally, the prestigious Gold Award 🏆, which highlights exceptional innovations even among the top packaging prize winners, will be announced. 🌞Sunshine, open-air DJ, and the scent of grilled food in the air: Our After Work Event at Schwan Park was an absolute hit! 🎉 Over 100 colleagues came together to wind down the day with engaging conversations and fun activities like foosball and goal wall shooting. Our DJ, Felix Ledig, created the perfect atmosphere with relaxing Deep House & Afro House music 🎵, even getting some of our employees to dance 💃🕺. With a view over the idyllic pond 🌅, our catering team grilled delicious food and provided a wide variety of drinks, rounding off the evening perfectly. Another highlight was the live action painting 🎨 by Marc Cronimus, who wowed us as his artwork took shape throughout the evening and ultimately became a masterpiece. Finding Balance in the Workday 🧘♀️🌿 At Schwan-STABILO, we offer a range of sports activities to support our employees' well-being, including yoga classes available to those from Schwanhäußer Industrie Holding GmbH & Co. We offer two distinct yoga courses: Back Fit Yoga (led by Petra Volkert) focuses on maintaining a healthy back through breathing exercises, warm-ups, and stretching, while Vinyasa Yoga (taught by Sandra Tepfenhart) combines movement and breath for a revitalizing experience. Both courses are offered from employees for employees, and it’s wonderful to see them so well-attended during lunch breaks and after work. STABILO will once again be one of the main sponsors of the "Brückenfestival," which will take place at the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke in Nuremberg tomorrow, August 9th, and on Saturday, August 10th. ✨🎉 At the festival, there will be various forms of entertainment – primarily music, but also other types of pop culture, as well as a diverse selection of food and drinks. 🤗💃 The "Brückenfestival" aims to provide space for new discoveries, experiments, and the experience of music and culture. 🔊✌ At our stand, we will offer coloring activities for guests of all ages on both days. 🎸 Running on the Highway to Health! 🏃♂️🏃♀️   Last week, our teams from Schwan Cosmetics, STABILO International GmbH, and Schwanhäußer Industrie Holding GmbH & Co. KG hit the pavement for the B2Run in Nuremberg! With 50 colleagues among 17,000 runners, we conquered the 6.1km course with determination and team spirit.   In a fun twist, our route was altered due to the setup for an upcoming AC/DC concert. Plastic is not just plastic. ❎ For many years, we have used recycled materials from our regranulator and external sources alongside standard plastics. ♻ Alternative materials like plastics from food waste are also gaining importance. ✅ To effectively leverage the positive material properties for developing products and packaging, and to process plastics in the most resource-efficient manner possible, requires specialised knowledge that we have accumulated over decades. 💚 In addition, the Plastic Competence Team has been established as a central hub for consolidating information, supplier contacts, and material inquiries. We share that fundamental knowledge about plastics through our Plastic Knowledge Database, aiming to educate all employees. 🎓🧐 Further, specific training for our employees is offered about our efforts and developments but also about sustainability in general. 👌 We are continually making our pen production more sustainable, actively evaluating new materials to lead in this field. We support preschool students in collaboration with the Schreibmotorik Institut e.V. to train hand motor skills at an early stage, preparing them for learning to write later on. 👌😁       According to a study by the Schreibmotorik Institut e.V. on the development, problems, and interventions in handwriting, which involved around 850 primary and secondary school teachers 👩🏫, 71% of students write too slowly, 76% have difficulties with writing structure, and 65% struggle with the legibility of their writing. 😳 The situation is very grave - 51% of male and 30% of female students have trouble developing clear and fluent handwriting. 🤯         The development of motor skills for writing starts as early as kindergarten age (3 years old). Early intervention supports the healthy developmental process of writing and helps to prevent problems in school. ☺      Therefore, since autumn 2017, we have been offering our employees the opportunity to volunteer in kindergartens in and around Nuremberg and Weissenburg. 🤗    The Schreibmotorik Institut e.V. developed playful exercises for the volunteers to convey to the children the fun of using pen and paper, as well as holding and moving a pencil correctly. 🖍📃 Each volunteer supervises a small group of about six children in a total of four sessions, each lasting about one hour, during which they scribble together. 😄     To honour the successful voluntary engagement of our employees, we donate to a charitable organisation chosen by the volunteer. 🧡 #STABILO #kritzelpate #preschool #learningtowrite #scribble
