🤔 Weißt du wofür LCA steht? 💡 LCA, auch Ökobilanz genannt, steht für Live Cycle Assessment und beschreibt die systematische Analyse der Umweltwirkungen von Produkten, Verfahren oder Dienstleistungen entlang des gesamten Lebenszyklus. Dabei werden alle Phasen eines Produktlebenszyklus berücksichtigt, von der Produktion über die Nutzung bis hin zur Entsorgung sowie aller vor- und nachgelagerten Prozessschritte wie etwa die Herstellung der benötigen Rohstoffe. Bei Storopack evaluieren wir die Ökobilanz unserer Produkte mit dem EcoDesign Tool. Dabei beziehen wir auch die Bedürfnisse unserer Kunden und die Anforderungen an das Produkt mit in diese Betrachtung ein. Ziel ist es, ein globales Bild der ökologischen Herausforderungen zu schaffen und unseren Kunden zu helfen, das richtige Produkt oder die richtige Lösung zu finden. Im Fokus steht hierbei die Verminderung des Materialeinsatzes bei gleichbleibender Qualität. Grundlegend dafür ist, die gesamte Bandbreite der Auswirkungen und Einflüsse unserer Produkte auf die Umwelt zu bewerten und zu vergleichen. So können wir auch unsere eigenen Prozesse im Sinne der Ökobilanz stetig verbessern.

🤔 Do you know what LCA stands for? 💡 LCA stands for Live Cycle Assessment and describes the systematic analysis of the environmental impacts of products, processes or services along their entire life cycle. All phases of a product's life cycle are taken into account, from production through use to disposal, as well as all upstream and downstream process steps, such as the production of the raw materials required. At Storopack, we evaluate the life cycle assessment of our products using the EcoDesign tool. In doing so, we also include the needs of our customers and the requirements of the product in this evaluation. The goal is to create a global picture of the environmental challenges and help our customers find the right product or solution. The focus here is on reducing the use of materials while maintaining the same level of quality. Fundamental to this is assessing and comparing the full range of environmental impacts and influences of our products. In this way, we can also continuously improve our own processes in terms of the eco-balance.

The Drop Test Agency team tested one of our sustainable products - this time our PAPERplus® RECYCLING PAPER passed their test successfully. 💪 PAPERplus® RECYCLING PAPER is made from 100% recycled material and protects products reliably thanks to the same packaging properties as conventional Kraft paper. It can be completely recycled and is available for the paper cushion systems PAPERplus® Classic, PAPERplus® Papillon and PAPERplus® Shooter.

🚛 Do your goods stay perfectly chilled during shipping? Fresh food such as fish, meat, fruit or vegetables need the right packaging to ensure they arrive at the right temperature. We have developed a wide range of temperature-controlled insulated packaging made from various materials (EPS/Styropor®, rEPS (recycled EPS), Neopor® and EPP), which not only keep the goods at the desired temperature, but are also very light and robust. When shipping fresh and frozen food, the choice of the right transport is crucial - is it active or passive transport Active refrigerated transportation requires energy that is generated by the truck, for example. This makes sense in food shipping when large quantities of goods are transported. The requirement here is that the goods are transported in the same temperature range. If individual grades need to be cooled at a lower temperature, a separate cold room is required, e.g. in a special two-chamber vehicle. For smaller quantities and more flexible transportation, passive cooling with thermoboxes is the ideal solution - cost-effective and reliable, even in regions where a continuous energy supply cannot be reliably guaranteed. We offer the necessary insulated boxes with various insulation properties, that keep the temperature constant and are lightweight and robust. And to ensure that the goods arrive safely chilled, we also offer suitable cooling elements such as accumulators or gel packs. Recently, our colleagues once again demonstrated true team spirit by participating at MudMates! MudMates is all about teamwork, strength, skill, and endurance. Four Storopack employees from Metzingen took on this outdoor obstacle race, navigating through various terrains around the Metzingen area. Over 11 kilometers and 400 meters of elevation, they faced some seriously muddy challenges. It wasn’t just about finishing the race, but about working together as a team.
