    CEO bei Sunfire GmbH

Last week we celebrated the official commissioning of our 10 MW pressurized alkaline electrolyzer at RWE in Lingen. As we start the new week, I would like to once again thank Markus Krebber and Dr. Sopna Sury from RWE for their great trust in Sunfire.   RWE has installed a total of 14 MW of electrolysis capacity at their gas power plant in Lingen. Our 10 MW system generates up to 200 kilograms of green hydrogen per hour using electricity from renewable sources. Our friends at ITM Power / Linde Engineering were also involved in the project with 4 MW. This makes the facility one of the largest operating electrolyzers in Germany.   By 2027, Lingen is set to become one of Europe's largest hydrogen production sites with 300 MW of installed electrolysis capacity. RWE is demonstrating true #leadership here.   I was particularly pleased with the positive feedback from our customer regarding our project execution capability. Both teams, RWE and Sunfire, show every day what a true partnership can look like. Always onwards and upwards!

🎬 Curtains up: Sunfire and RWE celebrate the launch of green hydrogen production in Lingen Today marks another milestone in Germany's energy transition – and we’re right at the heart of it! Together with our partner RWE and guests like Robert Habeck, Stephen Weil, and Christian Meyer we celebrated the commissioning of the 14 MW pilot electrolyzer in Lingen – one of the largest operational electrolyzer plants in Germany. A key component of the pilot plant is our 10 MW pressurized alkaline electrolyzer, producing green hydrogen on an industrial scale. Powered by renewable energy, the plant can produce up to 200 kilograms of green hydrogen per hour. 💧 The remaining 4 MW of the pilot plant are based on the PEM technology provided by ITM Power / Linde Engineering. Nils Aldag, Sunfire CEO: "Our partners are facing enormous decarbonization challenges – fast solutions and long-term planning security are crucial. Sunfire's pressurized alkaline electrolyzers provide the right answer. With our 10 MW plant, we are making an important contribution to the Lingen hydrogen site and are collaborating closely with RWE, a renowned industrial partner. Together we are gaining valuable experiences for the realization of future large-scale projects."   Dr. Sopna Sury, COO Hydrogen of RWE Generation: "In Sunfire, we've partnered with a strong German electrolyzer manufacturer. Sunfire's pressurized alkaline electrolyzers are a key component of the plant where RWE is laying the groundwork for industrial-scale green hydrogen production in Lingen. The plant will provide us with valuable insights for deploying this technology in future large-scale hydrogen production projects." 🤝 We’re proud that RWE has once again chosen Sunfire as a partner to gain valuable experiences in industrial-scale green hydrogen production. #HydrogenIsTheAnswer

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰!🏅 Did you know that the Paris 2024 Olympic Games aim to be the most sustainable Games in history? And that green hydrogen is set to play a pivotal role in making these Games greener? Here are some facts: ⛳Green hydrogen is powering five hydrogen generators, boosting local electrical capacity during the equestrian, modern pentathlon, and golf events in Versailles and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. 🏙️ The Games are acting as a catalyst for expanding hydrogen infrastructure in Paris. The number of hydrogen refuelling stations is expected to double, the hydrogen vehicle fleet will triple in size. This infrastructure will continue to benefit the city long after the Olympic Games have ended. 🚗 The Paris 2024 organizers are using a fleet of 500 green hydrogen-powered cars to transport athletes, officials, and guests around Paris. After the Olympics, these cars will be integrated into the fleet of taxis serving the Paris area. Additionally, a dozen hydrogen fuel-cell buses are being used to transport the athletes. We're absolutely on fire to see the Paris 2024 Olympic Games going for 'green gold.' Green hydrogen can enable climate neutrality in numerous applications. At Sunfire, we initially see the greatest need for the use of green hydrogen in industry. As a torchbearer in industrial electrolysis, we at Sunfire share the 'Olympian' dream of a fossil-free future. 🌍💚 #HydrogenIsTheAnswer #Sunfire #GreenHydrogen #Paris2024

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! In the first half of 2024, the EU generated more electricity from renewable energy sources than from fossil fuels for the first time. 🌬️☀️ According to think tank Ember, wind and solar contributed 30% to European electricity generation. 💪 This is fantastic news, bringing us one step closer to carbon neutrality and energy resilience. 💥 However, while we should celebrate this accomplishment, there is still a long way to go before a complete phase-out of fossil fuels. 🗝️ Key government measures such as strong funding, demand incentives and regulatory clarity will be essential to winning the race against climate change and building a strong European clean tech industry. 💧⚡ At Sunfire, we are committed to our vision: to free the world from fossil fuels. Our innovative hydrogen technologies enable large industrial companies achieve carbon neutrality. Let's keep up the good work and stay focused on our mission to bring renewables everywhere! 🌱 #HydrogenIsTheAnswer

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? 💧⚡ Green hydrogen is produced by electrolysis. Water (H₂O) is split into its basic components - hydrogen (H₂) and oxygen (O₂) - by the use of a green electric current. This takes place in an electrolyzer, which contains an anode (positive electrode) and a cathode (negative electrode). 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀? When electricity flows through the electrolyzer, water molecules (H₂O) move to the anode and cathode. Oxidation takes place at the anode: Electrons are removed and oxygen (O₂) is produced. Reduction takes place at the cathode: electrons are accepted and hydrogen (H₂) is produced. If the required electricity comes from renewable sources such as solar or wind, the hydrogen produced is completely green! 🌱 Electrolysis therefore plays a central role in the sustainable production of hydrogen and contributes to the realization of our vision: Free the world from fossil fuels. 💙 #HydrogenIsTheAnswer #Sunfire #GreenHydrogen #Electrolyzers
