𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 🌍💧 Green hydrogen plays a key role in a sustainable energy transition. But what exactly do we mean when we talk about “green” hydrogen? 🔍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 Although hydrogen itself is colorless, the color classification helps to explain the different production methods and their environmental impact. 🟢 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻: It is produced trough electrolysis using renewable energy, such as wind or solar power. 🔵 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻: When produced from fossil fuels, the CO₂ produced is captured and stored instead of being released into the atmosphere. 🔘 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻: The most common, but also the least sustainable hydrogen. It is produced from fossil fuels, releasing large amounts of CO₂ emissions. 🌱 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? ✅ 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: Green hydrogen is a versatile solution with enormous potential for both climate protection and energy security. It helps to sustainably transform the energy system and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. ✅ 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹: It can be used as an energy storage medium or for raw material production in the energy sector, as well as in industries or the mobility sector (e.g., in heavy-duty transport). ✅ 𝗝𝗼𝗯-𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿: Green hydrogen also generates new jobs and supports economic success. #HydrogenIsTheAnswer
