With a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Mechatronics and Robotics from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Charlotte brings a wealth of expertise from one of Europe’s leading institutions for research and innovation. Charlotte’s time at TUM, a hub of advanced engineering and cutting-edge technology, laid the foundation for her passion in the field. SÜSS MicroTec also offers key technologies for 2.5D integration, such as redistribution of I/O bump pads, integrated passives and fan-out of interconnects, which are supported by our lithography and coating systems. These advanced packaging innovations are critical as the industry moves towards more complex and compact package designs. These solutions are also widely used in other applications, such as MEMS, power devices and high performance LEDs. 2️⃣ 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝘀 SÜSS MicroTec 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀? Here, we are providing resist post exposure and developer as well as cleaner technologies that enable the production and long-term use of DUV and EUV masks for the 3nm technology node. In close cooperation with key customers, we are currently developing new technologies to be integrated in an AI-supported platform for the 1xÅ node, marking another milestone in precision processing. Additionally, we are leveraging our experience in photomask cleaning and expanding into wafer cleaning. This new solution fits well into our portfolio, as it replaces hazardous chemicals, addressing one of the industry's biggest challenges: sustainability. The semiconductor industry has always risen to new challenges with a great spirit of innovation. Today we are producing chips with over 150 billion transistors and the end is not yet in sight. In the next three years, we could be producing chips with over 500 billion transistors - and over a trillion by 2030. These advances, combined with 2.5D and 3D integration, are enabling super-fast data transmission and processing, especially critical for AI engines. 2️⃣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 SÜSS MicroTec 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁? From apprentice to team lead. 🙌🏼 What does this career path look like at SÜSS MicroTec? Nico Brenneke knows first-hand. Since starting in 2013, he has constantly developed and mastered new challenges. What was exciting about it? I applied to several companies and got the first acceptance from SÜSS MicroTec. But how do you truly step into a responsible role and absorb the knowledge of an experienced colleague? 🙌🏼 Our US team is currently showcasing a perfect example of how this can be achieved. Emilie Ponsin joined SÜSS MicroTec in the U.S. at the beginning of July. Originally from France, Emilie has spent many years living outside of Europe, mostly in the United States, with some time in Hong Kong as well. While she’s no stranger to the semiconductor equipment industry, the processes at SÜSS MicroTec are new to her. As a Sales Engineer, her role is to turn the unique challenges of our U.S. customers into tailored solutions. ➡️ To support her in this journey, Emilie benefits from a structured onboarding process, guided by her dedicated mentor: Rick Larson. With over 40 years in the industry, Rick brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong network, honed through roles at companies like Hitachi Semiconductor. Having been with SÜSS MicroTec for nearly three years, Rick is now focusing on the crucial task of 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 to Emilie. “The projects here are never repetitive. Every day brings something new and keeps me on my toes,” says Kai Bschaden about his career at SÜSS MicroTec. For Kai, working at SUSS MicroTec is more than just a job. It's the opportunity to work on exciting projects, solve challenging problems, and continuously grow in a dynamic environment. ➡️ His journey began in 2016 with an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician. Today, he is a Software Engineer in the “Process Control” department. ➡️ After completing his apprenticeship, Kai took on responsibility in the SW Configurations Team, where he was in charge of configuring system software and supporting colleagues in commissioning and service. ➡️ In early 2023, during the R&D restructuring, Kai took on the role of Product Owner for software-related topics and contributed his expertise to various projects. “It was a turning point for me because I had the opportunity to actively shape the software development in the projects and estimate the effort involved.” ➡️ In the summer of 2024, Kai took the next step by moving to the “Process Control” department, where he now works as a Software Engineer on more complex projects and continues to expand his skills. For Kai, the variety of his work is what motivates him every day: “I love working out solutions, finding mistakes and fixing errors. I never get bored.” But it's not just the projects, the people are also a key reason why he enjoys working here so much. “I've had the chance to collaborate with so many colleagues across different departments – from the assembly areas during my apprenticeship to teams in the U.S. and Taiwan. Everywhere, I've experienced kindness and a willingness to help.” His conclusion: “A career at SUSS MicroTec means doing what I love while supporting the projects and my colleagues in the best way possible.” For Kai, the key to success is finding roles that spark his curiosity and passion for complex tasks – and that's exactly what he has found at SUSS MicroTec. #career #sussmicrotec #semiconductor
