💡 Want to make sustainability work in business? Start by asking, “What can we do without?” Frank Jensen, a third-generation leader at Søren Jensen, shared something that really stuck with me: Sustainability in construction isn’t just about adding greener solutions—it starts with questioning what’s truly necessary. His example? They eliminated 1,200 unused electrical sockets, saving €150,000—money that was reinvested into sustainable materials. That’s the power of doing more with less. The lesson: Focus on sufficiency. Redesign processes. Cut the waste. 🎥 Watch the video for actionable insights on aligning sustainability with smarter business practices. ... 🎧 Listen to my full conversation with Frank on the SUSTAINX: Leaders in Sustainability Podcast here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eMk82b2F (Spotify) | https://lnkd.in/ehRq4pwD (Apple Podcasts)

🔋 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧—𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐝, 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 At BASF’s Ludwigshafen site, a 54 MW PEM electrolyser—built with Siemens Energy—is now live. Powered entirely by renewables, it will produce up to 1 tonne of green hydrogen per hour, feeding directly into BASF’s chemical processes. 📉 Cuts up to 72,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually ⚙️ Hydrogen replaces fossil inputs in manufacturing 🚛 Surplus supports clean mobility in the Rhine-Neckar region 💶 Backed by €124 million in public funding This project is a real-world example of what industrial decarbonisation can look like—with scale, ambition, and public-private alignment. At SUSTAINX, we track breakthrough technologies that could reshape value chains—so procurement and sustainability leaders stay ahead of the curve. 👉 Are you keeping hydrogen on your radar? 📰 BASF Press Release, March 2025: https://lnkd.in/e-8m6gvD #GreenHydrogen #Decarbonisation #IndustrialTransition

🏠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 — 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐔𝐬 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞? 🍞 WRAP’s latest tracker shows a 21% 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 at home, with bread, milk and potatoes most commonly thrown away. The data suggests the rise is driven by “𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴”— such as checking cupboards before shopping or planning meals. (𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦) 🛒 𝐈𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭: the systems we build to reduce waste need to account for how people actually live — not just how we hope they’ll behave. 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝. That’s why successful circular strategies often work quietly, in the background — nudging action through design, access and ease. 🔁 At SUSTAINX, we help organisations embed circular thinking into their products and operations — 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤. 👉 Want to explore where small changes can drive big results? Diversity isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s the smart thing to do. On the SUSTAINX: Leaders in Sustainability Podcast, Dr. Saskia Juretzek shared why female representation and diverse voices aren’t just about fairness—they’re a strategic edge in sustainability. 🌍 Companies that ignore this? They risk more than just credibility. They invite backlash that can drown out their message. 🚨 Inclusion isn’t a checkbox. It’s the baseline for real leadership. Watch the video to hear why. 👇 ... 🎧 Listen to my full conversation with Saskia on the SUSTAINX: Leaders in Sustainability Podcast here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e3jmVM2N (Spotify) | https://lnkd.in/ebv-8A3E (Apple Podcasts)

📅 𝐄𝐔 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬: 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐧 — 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭? 🗳️ It’s been a month since the European Commission announced its 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞 (26𝘵𝘩 𝘍𝘦𝘣), aimed at easing regulatory burdens and boosting EU competitiveness. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝: 🏢 Big businesses like RHI Magnesita argue the proposals 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 — noting that while smaller firms may benefit, large companies still face costly ESG compliance. 🌱 Sustainability advocates warn that too much 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 and delay real climate progress. As Reuters News Agency surmised last week: “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘴.” 🔁 At SUSTAINX, we help organisations respond to shifting frameworks — without losing sight of long-term sustainability goals. 👉 Want to turn regulatory change into strategic momentum? Collaboration is the backbone of real sustainability progress. Sandra Koerger puts it perfectly: Real impact happens when sustainability is embedded across teams, functions, and stakeholders. It’s not about isolated initiatives. It’s about making sustainability part of the company’s DNA—with aligned goals and shared KPIs. The key? Breaking down silos and making sustainability everyone’s responsibility. ... 🎧 Listen to my full conversation with Sandra on the SUSTAINX: Leaders in Sustainability podcast here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eCrKn8zf (Spotify) | https://lnkd.in/eitWAmRW (Apple Podcasts)
