🎬 Official Trailer Release - and upcoming #WorldPremiere this Saturday (7th) in Nairobi: #IMPURE is a feature film that addresses the issue of „period shaming“. Inspired by a true incident in Kenya, it tells the story of a young girl who tragically took her own life after facing ridicule from her teacher and classmates for getting her first period at school. We were honored to have the movie's director Rico Herre with us at our #MHDay2024 event at the #GIZ Berlin Representation, who let us have a sneak preview of the trailer besides sharing a bit of backgound... Since no one has educated her about this natural process, she is taunted by her classmates, faces mistreatment from her teacher, and is left with unanswered questions: What is happening to her body? Is she sick?Could she even infect her pregnant mother? On top of all this, will she ever be able to show her face at school again? In her desperation, she runs away from home… IMPURE is a thought-provoking coming-of-age story that addresses the stigma of „period shaming“, drawing inspiration from tragic real-life-events. We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of our #partnership between #equalaqua and the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA)! This collaboration will bridge critical capacity gaps while advancing gender equality in the #water and #sanitation sectors. 💧 🚽 Alongside The World Bank and partners, we’re committed to advancing #GenderEquality and making significant progress toward #SDG6. We’re eager to contribute through our knowledge management and expertise from our SuSanA community. Equal Aqua is a great platform driving gender diversity in water and sanitation sector jobs, offering an array of tools, resources, and services to support gender equality efforts within institutions worldwide. This partnership represents a major step forward in breaking down barriers and empowering women in all their diversity. 🌍
