It's incredible to think that a month has already passed since the 4th European Hyperloop Week (EHW) in Zürich! 🎉
This year, our goal was not only to increase the number of participating teams but also to encourage them to innovate, collaborate, and brainstorm together—all while keeping safety as the top priority. Throughout the year, we hosted seminars in partnership with the Institute of Hyperloop Technology thanks to Lukas Eschment, we provided guidelines for clear documentation, increased transparency by publishing competition rubrics and scrutineering points, and began offering feedback sessions post-documentation with industry experts to identify critical design issues early.
Serving as Technical Lead, I had the privilege to witness firsthand the evolution of each team as they submitted their documentation and refined their proposals. Seeing the culmination of this year’s efforts during the scrutineering, technical presentations, and demonstration day in Zürich was incredibly rewarding. A total of eight teams managed to successfully demonstrate their prototypes! 👏
I want to congratulate ITU HyperBee Team, Tachyon Hyperloop, and Vegapod Hyperloop | MIT World Peace University for your participation and awards in the promising subsystem category. Congratulations to Delft Hyperloop for your awards on thermal management, infrastructure, and full-scale technical research. Thank you for your commitment to performing the first hyperloop lane switch.
I want to especially congratulate the winners of the most demanding category, the Complete System: 🥇 Hyperloop UPV, 🥈 mu-zero HYPERLOOP, and 🥉 Swissloop.
A special thanks to my colleagues, particularly Twan Terpstra and Alejandro Gonzalvo Hidalgo as my co-leads in the Technical Department, and all our colleagues, partners, jurors, and volunteers who made this event possible. 🙏
Reflecting on the event, I am incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together. The future of innovation is bright, and I’m excited to continue collaborating with this amazing team to shape what’s next! Stay tuned as we get ready for the next EHW in the Netherlands, with special support from the European Hyperloop Center and Hardt Hyperloop. 🚀 🌟 🚅
