This week we hosted our tesa talk format on “Promoting and activating sustainable consumption” with Jun.-Prof. Dr. Anna-Karina Schmitz and Prof. Dr. Martin Fassnacht from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, Center for Market-Oriented Corporate Management (CMM). At a time when consumer behavior plays a central role in the implementation of #sustainability and the #transformation of business models, the urgency of promoting sustainable consumption has never been greater. Innovative strategies and actionable insights are of great importance. The experts shared fantastic insights on integrating sustainability into brand strategies, creating customer value, and using price management to steer demand toward sustainable products. They presented clear statements on how to elevate and activate sustainable consumption from being a pioneer to going beyond direct contributions and understanding that consumer education is a marathon, not a sprint. Our ongoing collaboration with WHU continues to flourish, and we are excited to be part of such a powerful exchange. We are pleased to announce that the Supervisory Board of tesa SE has appointed Ingrid Sebald as Executive Board Member Technology with immediate effect. In this role she will be responsible for #technology and #sustainability. Both areas are closely linked, and this new Executive Board position emphasizes tesa’s commitment to developing and promoting innovative and more sustainable adhesive solutions. “With Ingrid, we have an excellent leader who has been driving innovation, technology, and sustainability in all her previous assignments with great success,” said our CEO Dr. Norman Goldberg at the global Town Hall yesterday. He welcomed her together with Arunjai Mittal, who was also introduced as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of tesa SE. The new board now consists of Dr. Norman Goldberg, Dr. Jörg Diesfeld, Dr. Andreas (Andy) Mack and Dr. Ingrid Sebald. Join us in welcoming Ingrid Sebald to her new role. tesa is taking a giant leap towards a climate-neutral future by integrating green hydrogen into production processes! ⚙ What does that mean? - We are partnering with Gasnetz Hamburg GmbH, to get tesa plant Hamburg connected to the hydrogen network - We will start producing the first adhesive tapes using hydrogen by 2027 - This will save around 6,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually Our goal is to ensure an efficient and economical energy supply, and that’s why we’re committed to exploiting all opportunities to use renewable energy. 🔕 It’s a lot quieter at our production sites in Germany and at our headquarter these days. Is it because of summer time? Well, yes, but not what you think … We have turned off our combined heat and power (CHP) plants. This means that our production facilities are much quieter than usual. But that’s not all: Shutting down the CHP plants has already saved 4,000 metric tons of CO₂, bringing us one step closer to our Scope 1 and 2 carbon neutrality target of 2030. While CHP has long been the most economical approach, the evolution of energy costs means that #sustainability and economic #efficiency now go hand in hand 🤝 The closure of the CHP plants clearly shows that the key is to be flexible and to evaluate current practices.
