There has never been a more important time to enhance the sustainability of the aluminum supply chain—and innovative technologies are at the forefront of this transformation.🔁💡 Dynamic LIBS technology, integrated into our AUTOSORT PULSE™, is one such breakthrough. Before the installation, Gerhard Lang Recycling GmbH – one of Germany’s leading recycling companies – had to sell their mixed 5xxx/6xxx aluminum scrap immediately after shredding because no efficient sorting technology was available on the market. With our AUTOSORT PULSE™ powered by Dynamic LIBS, they can now: ➡ Achieve precise separation of 5xxx and 6xxx series aluminum alloys ➡ Sell the recovered materials to leading aluminum manufacturers and recyclers for direct integration into the production of new aluminum alloys ➡ Process between 4–7 tons per hour, with purity levels of up to 97% Discover the real-world impact of integrating the most advanced aluminum alloy sorting system in your operation, with the link in the comments.

Dynamic LIBS isn’t magic—but it sure feels like it. Behind the scenes, it’s years of research and engineering at work. Here's how it happens 🔽🎥 ➡ Watch our expert Sebastian Callegari break down the technology behind our advanced aluminum alloy sorting system, installed as one of the world's first at Gerhard Lang Recycling GmbH plant in Germany. It all starts after the bulk material infeed – that's when the 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 happens. The AUTOSORT™ PULSE’s 3D object scanning feature analyzes the shape, height, and position of each object, pinpointing the perfect shooting spot for the Dynamic LIBS laser. This laser offers two modes: 💡 Multi-point – Scanning in a line across the sample 💡 Single-point – Our self-developed method where the laser “drills” into a specific spot, ensuring precise detection – even for materials covered in oil, paint, or coating. The result? Up to 10 tons per hour of precisely sorted aluminum alloys with minimal contamination, unlocking new value and marketability in both post-production and post-consumer scrap. See this technology in action at Gerhard Lang Recycling GmbH plant and believe it with your own eyes. Link is in the comments. 🔽

In January, we were delighted to host our colleagues from the KANAL project at our TOMRA Recycling headquarters. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to review project results, plan our next steps, and showcase our technical center. KANAL* is a collaborative initiative that aims to close the loop on aluminum scrap generated in automotive production using laser-induced plasma spectroscopy (LIBS). 🚗♻️ We are proud to work with our project partners Gerhard Lang Recycling GmbH, Pforzheim University, Umweltkanzlei Beratungs- und Prüfgesellschaft mbH and two associated partners from the automotive and aluminum industries. 🔁 Closed-loop recycling for aluminum production scrap IS possible and together with Gerhard Lang Recycling GmbH, we made it our mission to prove it. Gerhard Lang Recycling and TOMRA are part of the ambitious KANAL* research project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action to establish a circular economy in automotive production. 🚗 Until recently, there was no efficient solution to separate high- and low-magnesium aluminum alloys, found in automotive stamping scrap, due to their identical appearance and density. Enter the AUTOSORT™ PULSE. At the core of this system is our Dynamic LIBS solution, an in-house developed, highly advanced laser technology and the result of years of research. By analyzing the elemental composition of each alloy, it achieves efficient separation with up to 97% purity, making it the most advanced aluminum sorting system available today. We're proud to collaborate with Gerhard Lang Recycling, and thank Maximilian Lang for his confidence in our technology and the successful partnership. 🤝 See our breakthrough solution in action with the link in the comments below. 🔽 #Recycling #Aluminum #AluminumAlloySorting #LIBS #WasteIntoValue *𝘒𝘈𝘕𝘈𝘓 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 ‘𝘒𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘧𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘧ü𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘬𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘈𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘮-𝘕𝘦𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘬𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘓𝘐𝘗𝘚,' 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 "𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘮 𝘚𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘱 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘜𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘐𝘉𝘚."
