At Tribu we have the mission to bring fun and education in every family in a sustainable and circular way. We created age appropriate toy boxes for kids to play and for their parents to exchange for a new one when their child outgrows the old toys. With this subscription based model we aim to reduce the amount of waste that is created by toys being thrown away. 28% of parents throw away toys that are in perfect working condition and we decided to do something about it. Tribu already saved more than 2000 toys from being thrown away since 2020 when it was founded by two Berlin based Moms.

    We are proud to announce that our Co-founder Cilia Laug, MSc. won the 2nd place in the AUV Alumni Prize! 🎉 The AUV Alumni Prize is an annual encouragement award from the Universiteit van Amsterdam Association for UvA alumni who make a special contribution to society through an engaging project. The prize was awarded as part of the Universiteitsdag 2023 on the 23rd of September in Amsterdam. The day was focused on the theme of trust and the issues in regards to sustainability as well as the need for clear communication to combat consumer scepticism. Greenwashing and other concepts were discussed, and the importance of genuine environmental efforts by businesses was pointed out. Overall, it was a very inspiring and successful event that brought together alumni, staff and students of the University of Amsterdam to talk about important topics and once more put sustainability into focus. 💫 💚 Photos by Michael Niamut
