We were very honoured to welcome Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and First Lady Ms Elke Büdenbender to the TUI Field to Fork project on Crete. 🇬🇷 The TUI Care Foundation's pioneering project supports over 500 farmers on Crete and Rhodes, promoting sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices and connecting local food producers with the tourism sector. 🌍 The project follows an holistic approach of regenerative agriculture, selling products locally and directly involving the tourism sector – an initiative that shows how tourism can be a force for good and adds value. Thomas Ellerbeck, Chairman of the TUI Care Foundation: “This recognition of our work, which we started in 2016, shows the need to connect sustainable agriculture with the tourism sector on Crete - the foundation of which was laid with the former Tourism Minister of Greece, ELENA KOUNTOURA. This project is the blueprint for our global Field to Fork programme across ten countries and it reflects our dedication to a sustainable, resilient future, that honours the heritage of these islands and leads to added economic value in the destination I would particularly like to thank all TUI colleagues for their support. We accept this recognition on behalf of our project partners and TUI colleagues, whose support we count on every single day in our work." During their visit, President Steinmeier and Ms Büdenbender experienced firsthand the regenerative farming techniques and met with local farmers and producers. An olive tree was dedicated to them as a symbol of our shared commitment to sustainability. TUI Field to Fork Greece is a collaboration of the TUI Care Foundation in partnership with SFDO | Sustainable Food Destination Organization® and Futouris e.V.. The German Federal President was accompanied by State Minister Anna Lührmann (German Federal Foreign Office), MP Otto Fricke, MP Thomas Rachel, Professor Dr. Christoph Gornott (Potsdam institute for climate research) and Football trainer and legend Otto Rehagel, who is very well known in Greece. 

A family reunion at 41,000 feet 🛫   TUI Captain Robert Yallop experienced a flight he’ll never forget — his 3-month-old granddaughter Maeve was on board for her very first flight. 👨✈️🍼   It was a special trip for the whole family as Robert’s son Harry, a TUI First Officer, and Harry’s partner Jess, a member of TUI cabin crew, were also on board. They met and fell in love while working together, and now we can’t wait to see what role baby Maeve will take on with TUI in the future. #LetsTUIit

Empowering small businesses and driving entrepreneurial innovation in Greece 💡 🤝 We're joining forces with Wise Greece to introduce the new TUI Futureshapers Greece initiative. It provides training, mentorship and business links to support individuals and small businesses that tackle social and environmental challenges in Greece. Through the project, 1,000 aspiring entrepreneurs will be trained in the practical skills and knowledge needed to launch or expand their business ideas in the tourism, food, culture, arts & crafts and cosmetics sectors. 🚀 The project was launched by TUI Care Foundation's Chairman Thomas Ellerbeck; Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni; the founder of Wise Greece, Melina Taprantzi; and 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒂 Gerekou, President of the Greek National Tourism Organisation. The project is part of the TUI Care Foundation’s Entrepreneurship October, a month dedicated to highlighting support for sustainable businesses in tourism destinations. Curious to learn more? 🎉🚲 Successful first season with e-bikes on Rhodes 🚲🎉 More than a year ago, 30 e-bikes and 30 cargo bikes were purchased for our 250 local representatives on Rhodes as part of the Co-Lab for sustainable tourism. ♻ After the first full season, the feedback has been consistently positive. Our local reps told us what they particularly appreciate about the pilot project: 💙 staying fit at work and in their free time 💙 avoiding traffic while being flexible 💙 using environmentally friendly transportation The bikes, financed by funds from Belgium and the Netherlands, were aquired to help lower emissions and improve the well-being of the TUI team. Stay tuned, there will be exciting news about the project soon … 🆕 Ground transport is just one part of our efforts to lower emissions. We have also set science-based emissions targets for our airline, cruises, and hotels, validated by the independent Science Based Targets initiative.
