Pepper: the gold of the food industry! Since October 2023, pepper prices have surged by over 100%, reaching their highest level in seven years. This spike is driven by a supply shortage amid rising demand, as recently reported by Lebensmittel Praxis and Fachverband der Gewürzindustrie e.V.. At VAN HEES, we understand the challenges this poses for the food industry and have developed a new product that that offers a cost-effective, one-to-one replacement for pepper in existing recipes, as well as an excellent alternative for delicious new creations. Networking and tasting 🎉 This week we were guests at our long-standing partner, L. Stroetmann Unternehmensgruppe. We were very happy to be invited to take part in their in-house exhibition "Stroetmann Exklusive Forum". Our consultants were on site and were able to hold lots of valuable discussions with the trade fair participants in a relaxed atmosphere. Of course, there was also no shortage of culinary delights! 🍽️ We brought along a delicious selection for the participants, including vegetable fritters, pollo fino ‘doner style’, vegan meatballs, chicken nuggets and chicken strips ‘Tikko Masala’. 🌱🍗 Many thanks to everyone who attended and made the event a complete success. We're already looking forward to the next one!

🧑🍳 Döner – Mehr als nur Fast Food Der Döner ist aus der deutschen Esskultur nicht mehr wegzudenken. Wusstet ihr, dass europaweit pro Tag durchschnittlich rund 400 Tonnen Döner Kebab produziert werden? Mit der Herstellung und dem Verkauf werden somit im Durchschnitt rund 12 Milliarden Euro Umsatz jährlich erzielt. In Deutschland gibt es mittlerweile über 18.000 Dönerläden – damit ist der Döner ein echtes Schwergewicht der Gastronomie – und das nicht nur für uns Konsumenten. Die Betriebe schaffen Jobs, stärken die lokale Wirtschaft und sind zu einem festen Bestandteil unserer multikulturellen Gesellschaft geworden. 🌯 Jetzt steht der Döner im Fokus der EU! Aktuell liegt ein Antrag bei der EU, den Döner als "garantiert traditionelle Spezialität" zu schützen. Was bedeutet das?
