Plus, every participant could get a free PUMA Group football shirt – with no shipping costs! 🎁 This clever marketing strategy uses a simple psychological effect – 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆. People tend to return favors. CHECK24 is being generous to its customers, and the customers are responding by proudly wearing the shirts and advertising for the company. 👕❤️ According to CHECK24, they have already sent out 4 million shirts by the start of the Championship on Friday.     Dark psychology in E-Commerce: Temu has officially been warned for breaking EU consumer protection laws. 👩🏻⚖️ As conversion rate optimisers, we like to use psychological triggers. Of course, I have often thought about where the boundary with dark patterns lies. When is it simply good marketing, and when does it become manipulation? I would be very interested to hear what my network thinks about this 💬 I believe it’s crucial that the information presented is always truthful and not used to mislead. The Federation of German Consumer Organizations has warned Temu for breaking EU consumer protection laws. They accuse Temu of using manipulative advertising techniques, known as Dark Patterns. These are design patterns that manipulate users into behaviors contrary to their interests, exploiting design power solely for the benefit of their creators. Here are the key issues criticized by the consumer association: ▪ Temu mentions extremely high discounts, like up to 90 percent off, without giving enough information about the original prices. This can trick buyers and lead to quick, possibly regrettable purchases. ▪ According to German Consumer Organizations, Temu implements fake scarcity on their site with phrases like “Hurry up!" and "More than 54 users have bought this item repeatedly! Why not buy two at once…” These tactics pressure customers into making quick decisions.⏳ ▪ Social Proof: Reviews are meant to build trust. But at Temu, the large number of reviews on almost every product raises questions about their authenticity; are they real or possibly generated by bots? 🤖 What do you think about the use of Dark Patterns? Do you agree that Temu should face restrictions on their advertising methods?     🚀 Exciting news from Varify.io! We're thrilled to announce the launch of two powerful new features in our A/B testing tool: "Move Elements" and "Breadcrumb Selector" which we launched 3 weeks ago. With the "Move Elements" function, you can effortlessly rearrange elements on your website. Simply click on the element and use the arrow icons that appear above it to move it within its container. Here's how it works: Click on the element you want to move in the Varify.io editor. A frame will appear around the selected element, along with arrow icons. Use the up arrow to move the element one position earlier, and the down arrow to swap it with the next element. Next up, we're introducing the "Breadcrumb Selector". As soon as you click on an element, the breadcrumb navigation appears at the top of the screen. This shows all higher-level containers in which the clicked element is located, allowing you to navigate and select higher-level containers easily. Ideally both features are used together to easily move elements on your website. These features empower you to make precise edits and selections, enhancing your A/B testing experience and streamlining your workflow. Try them out today and let us know what you think!
