Live in Houston, the U.S. energy capital! 🇺🇸 We’ve opened a new corporate office in Houston and hosted an opening ceremony to mark the event. Thank you, Joaquin Martinez, Houston City Council Member, Steve Kean, CEO, Greater Houston Partnership, and Kris Larson, CEO of Downtown Houston.   Vestas has a strong presence in the US, and we continue to see strong potential here, shown by our:  ◼️ Significant domestic investment of over $1 billion into our manufacturing footprint, including $40 million in the last 18 months to bring new turbine technology to the states.   ◼️ Strong supply chain, with $1.7 billion spent across the USA supply chain in 2024 with 1,000+ suppliers.     With this new expansion, our U.S. office spaces will now span across 4 time zones in the states. We currently have over 5,000 colleagues in the US and look forward to welcoming more across our business units to the new Houston office location.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/ePMYaWBj

What does it take to create a circular wind industry? At Vestas and Stena Recycling A/S, we are committed to driving the transition towards a circular wind industry, one step at a time. Together, we are scaling up the chemical disassembly process developed in the CETEC project into a commercial solution, without changing blade design or material composition. Our pilot project is actively moving forward, laying the groundwork for a future where wind turbine blades can be recycled at scale, marking a key step toward our ambition making wind turbines 100% recyclable. While we're not there yet, each milestone brings us closer to offer a true recycling route for our customers' end-of-life blades. And with it, the potential to reshape sustainability in the wind energy industry. Stay tuned for more. Sign up for our sustainability newsletter and follow our journey. https://brnw.ch/21wQNNE

Growing momentum for our V163-4.5MW onshore turbine. From first power in Spain and the USA to now, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Live now, the LCA deep dives into the environmental impacts of a typical 99 MW wind power plant, covering its entire life cycle from raw material extraction to end-of-life scenario.   It also discloses key figures on: ◼️ Carbon footprint: 5.09 gCO2e/kWh ◼️ Return on energy: 39 times or 6 months ◼️ Recyclability: 98.5% (designed ‘as built’ turbine) ◼️ Recyclability: 94.6% to 85.3% (after recycling treatment)   At Vestas, we perform LCAs on all our products. This fact-based approach allows us to provide high transparency on the environmental performance of our technologies. Through this, we support our customers in calculating their carbon footprints while advancing global sustainability goals.   Find our LCAs here: https://lnkd.in/dEugJmB5

Delivering on our promises through technology excellence. In 2024, we made key strides in: ◼️ Scalability: We are transforming our industrial system from push to pull by prioritising modular designs, flexible supply chains, and a strong digital backbone. We also created a unified Technology & Operations organisation, laying the foundation for an enterprise-wide industrial system. ◼️ Reliability: Our type-certified V236-15.0 MW offshore wind turbine prototype delivered key learnings under rigorous testing for the second year. We also advanced operational testing on transport, installation, and service with our customers. On the onshore front, we kept a disciplined commercial culture and demonstrated good project execution. We achieved a Customer Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 59, equivalent to 7.95 on a 10-point scale. ◼️ Sustainability: Wind turbines produced and shipped in 2024 are expected to avoid 455 million tonnes of GHG emissions over their lifetime. We remain committed to science-based decarbonisation (scope 1-3) without offsets and aim for zero-waste turbine production by 2040 through circular design, material efficiency, and refurbishments.
