As a family-owned business in its fifth generation, it’s truly important to us that every new Viega employee feels at home from day one. In 1988, Viega reaches an important milestone with the opening of a new production site in Attendorn-Ennest. At the heart of the facility is one of Europe’s most modern foundries. 🏭🔥 It is here that our innovative metal press connection systems are introduced, paving the way for the site’s steady growth. Over the years, this has led to an enlargement of the foundry and the addition of a modern logistics center. A Momentous Occasion for 125 Years of Viega: Honouring 20,000 Employee Years! 🎉 On September 13, 2024, we celebrated a very special event marking our 125th company anniversary. In a festive atmosphere, we honoured over 650 active and retired employees for their long-standing loyalty to Viega. A total of 1,110 guests, including 653 jubilarians, attended the celebration in the marquee on our factory grounds in Attendorn-Ennest. They included jubilee attendees from across Germany, as well from as Italy, Belgium, France, Hungary, and Poland. It was a pleasure to personally recognize 110 of our long-serving employees, who are celebrating their 25th, 35th, or 45th or even longer work anniversaries, this year. "125 years of Viega. This is our grand anniversary, which we have been celebrating in various ways with the entire Viega team worldwide since the beginning of the year. And today, with you, our particularly long-serving employees," said Walter Viegener. Anna Viegener emphasized the decades-long shared pursuit of the highest quality as a key factor in our success. "Together we have achieved great things, and for that, we say a heartfelt thank you." CEO Markus Brettschneider spoke about the importance of our employees for the future of the company and highlighted, "We want to stay true to the old and be open to the new." After the festive buffet, the evening featured numerous highlights, including the dance band "Latenight" from the Rahrbach music association and an impressive LED show. The opportunity to reminisce and toast to many more years rounded off this splendid evening. It's Ganesha Puja right now, a colourful Hindu festival in India where people celebrate the birth of the elephant god Ganesha, which began with Ganesha Chaturthi on 7 September. What does this have to do with Viega? Well, a lot! 🐘 Ganesha is known as the 'Remover of Obstacles' or the 'Harbinger of Happiness'. The worship of Ganesha marks the beginning of any endeavour. So Ganesha was also worshipped at the opening of the new Viega Experience Centre in Mumbai in August 2023 – another important milestone for the Viega Group 🎉 Since 2015, our colleagues in India have been working hard to conquer the Indian market for Viega. Viega India had the privilege of welcoming a delegation of German and Indian politicians and other distinguished guests to our production facility in Sanand, Gujarat. The visit included Florian Müller, Member of the German Bundestag, Achim Fabig, Consul General in Mumbai, Sardarbhai S. Chaudhary, Gujarat's chief secretary, and Dr Prashant Korat, president of the Gujarat youth wing of the BJP. "The discussions were very interesting," said Shriyans Jain, Managing Director of Viega India Pvt. Ltd. "We were delighted that the delegation's visit to select global players from South Westphalia included a stop at our production facility in Sanand. Today marks the final day of one of the most important events in the maritime industry: the Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology trade fair, or SMM Hamburg for short 🚢 Until tonight, decision-makers and experts from the shipbuilding industry are gathering in Hamburg to discuss the latest trends and challenges. 2,000 exhibitors are taking part and we are proud to be one of them! 🌍   Our aim: to engage in dialogue with visitors on the spot. After three productive days, we can confidently say that we've achieved our goal. The Viega story is also a brand story. Over the years, the brand face has changed a few times. The first logo was created in 1936, when we registered our company name at the Patent and Trade Mark Office in Munich. Back then, we weren't called Viega, but "Franz Viegener II" – a bit too long for a memorable logo. That's why we decided to show the short form "FVII" on our first official logo. The birth of our brand name was at the end of the 50s. 🐣 "Viegener Attendorn" became "Viega", the name that has been visible in our logo from 1962 onwards. Attendorn is a town in the German state of North Rhine Westphalia and is the seat of the company´s headquarters. We integrated the old FVII logo in the i-dot, so that there's no confusion. We gave our logo another makeover in 1992. We wanted to highlight our expertise in the field of water quality in our logo, so we added a wave to the logo. 🌊 The logo we have today with its yellow and black bar and the yellow "Viega" writing in it came 17 years later and remains in people's minds 💛🖤 #viega #125years #connectedinquality #milestones
