We’re excited to announce that Volotea is the first European airline to collaborate with 280 Earth, a leader in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. This marks 280 Earth’s first partnership in Europe, opening new opportunities to explore innovative carbon removal solutions. 🤝 What this partnership means: 🔹 Two-year MOU agreement – Exploring high-quality carbon credit solutions and certified emissions reduction projects. 🌱 A key step in our sustainability strategy – Supporting innovative technologies that advance environmental responsibility in aviation. 🚀 Innovation-driven partnerships – Unlocking new ways to reduce aviation’s environmental impact. 💡 What is Direct Air Capture (DAC)? DAC removes CO₂ directly from the air, helping reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases. 280 Earth, originally developed at X, The Moonshot Factory (formerly Google X) and backed by Alphabet, is at the forefront of this breakthrough approach. Their first DAC facility in The Dalles, Oregon, is already operational, with plans to scale. As part of our Voloterra sustainability program, we’ve launched over 50 initiatives since 2012 to cut emissions, already reducing CO₂ emissions per passenger-kilometer by 47%. We’ve committed to a 50% reduction by 2030—and expect to reach this four to five years ahead of schedule. This collaboration allows Volotea and 280 Earth to explore carbon removal solutions, financing mechanisms, and emissions reduction projects that could support aviation’s sustainability goals, including the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). We look forward to working with 280 Earth and thank them for their trust in us as their first airline partner in Europe. #Volotea #280Earth #DirectAirCapture #CarbonRemoval #SustainableAviation #CORSIA #Innovation

For the second year in a row, we’re proud to support ITT Gambia, a non-profit dedicated to education and community development. This initiative first came to us through colleagues who had been personally involved with the foundation, and it resonated so strongly with our values that we decided to back it as a company. This year, 15 Volotea employees traveled to Gambia to take part in this collaboration. 🇬🇲 As part of our commitment, we donated funds to renovate the kitchen and dining area at Manduar School, one of ITT Gambia’s key education centers, creating a better space for students. The team also painted classrooms in Manduar and Sare Bigi, a village where ITT Gambia is active, hosted a cultural workshop for local adolescents, and participated in community and environmental efforts—from collecting plastics for recycling with Precious Plastic Gambia, a global initiative that turns plastic waste into reusable materials ♻️, to helping build a fence for the ITT Tree Foundation, which will protect a future forest. In Amdalai, a nearby community, they even had the chance to cook Benekin, a traditional dish, as part of a cultural exchange. 🍛 This experience reinforced an important lesson: impact knows no borders. 🌏 Thank you to our colleagues who dedicated their time to this initiative and to ITT Gambia for their inspiring work and trust in us as partners! 🤝 #Volotea #ITTGambia #PreciousPlastics #CommunityImpact

Last week, our Chief Strategy Officer, Gabriel Schmilovich, participated in the 4th annual Air Connectivity Forum, organized by Tourspain (Turespaña) and Aena in collaboration with Tourism of Cantabria. In the panel "The importance of promotional tools from tourist destinations in the development of air connectivity," airline representatives in Spain discussed how airports, airlines, and tourism boards can collaborate to strengthen air travel links. ✈️ The conversation covered key aspects of route development, emphasizing the need for close coordination between airlines, airports, and tourism authorities. Expanding connectivity requires a shared effort—identifying viable routes, ensuring the necessary infrastructure is in place, and supporting growth through joint promotional initiatives. 💡 This is particularly relevant for our growth in Spain, which will be our market with the most expansion in 2025, with a 9% capacity increase compared to 2024, reaching 3.6 million seats. This year, we will operate in 24 Spanish airports—over 70% more than in 2019—with 125 routes across our network, including more than 40 domestic connections, marking a 115% increase since 2019. 📈 Thank you to Turespaña, Aena, and Tourism of Cantabria for organizing this valuable forum and to everyone who contributed to the discussions. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and engage with industry peers. We look forward to continuing to work together to expand travel opportunities across Spain and Europe! 🤝 #Volotea #AviationIndustry #RouteDevelopment #TourismGrowth #Spain #EuropeanTravel

Last week, our Founder and CEO, Carlos Muñoz, joined an event organized by the Business Hub of CROEM (Confederación Regional de Organizaciones Empresariales de Murcia) to discuss the region’s tourism potential and how to better leverage its international airport. ✈️ Speaking at the forum with key business leaders, Carlos highlighted the airport’s untapped potential: “Murcia has a modern, efficient, and agile airport, but it’s performing far from its full potential. It has the capacity for up to 4 million passengers, yet it remains below 1 million. To change this, it’s crucial to develop new routes and for the public administration, the airport, the business community, and airlines to work together in building a critical mass, which could reach 2.5 million passengers in the next 3-5 years.” During the event — also attended by Miguel López Abad (President of CROEM), Jorge García Montoro (Regional Minister of Development and Infrastructure), and Carlos San Martín (Director of the Region of Murcia International Airport) — Carlos outlined Volotea’s contribution to the airport’s growth 📈: “Since we began operations in Murcia in 2019, we’ve transported nearly 200,000 passengers, seeing exponential growth and reinforcing our commitment to the region. Today, we operate three routes—to Bilbao, Oviedo, and, since December 2023, as the only airline flying to Barcelona. In 2024, we increased capacity by 139% compared to 2023, with a record NPS of 62.1 points—the highest across our network. We’re also exploring expansion to other countries, particularly France, our main market.” For 2025, we will continue strengthening connectivity in Murcia and enhancing travel options for passengers from the region, while also aiming to attract both domestic and international travelers. #Volotea #CROEM #Murcia #Aviation #Tourism

Last Friday, we celebrated 10 years of operations at Aéroport de Caen-Carpiquet! 🎉 Our France Country Manager, Gilles GOSSELIN, was joined by Manuel LE ROUX, President of CCI Caen Normandie, and Maryline Haize-Hagron, Airport Director, to mark this milestone. Passengers traveling on our CFR-MRS route joined the celebration with local treats and exclusive gifts from Volotea and the airport. Over the past decade, we’ve transported more than 1.3 million passengers to and from Caen, strengthening connectivity in the region. In 2024, we welcomed over 250,000 travelers with a 94% seat load factor and closed the year with a Net Promoter Score of 46.1, demonstrating high customer satisfaction. In 2025, we’re increasing capacity by 2% compared to 2024 and 87% versus 2019, offering over 270,000 seats across seven routes. Notably, 26% of seats will reinforce island connections, with flights to Corsica (Ajaccio, Bastia, Figari Sud Corse). ✈️ Thank you to the entire team at Caen Airport and to our passengers for their support and trust over the past decade! We look forward to welcoming even more passengers on board and continuing to enhance travel opportunities to and from the region. 🚀 📸 Photo Credit: Quentin Jockum #Volotea #AeroportdeCaen #10years #Normandy #Calvados

Last week, our Asturias-based team partnered with Bosquia, a Certified B Corporation specializing in forest restoration and the recovery of natural spaces, to plant one hectare of native trees in Pola de Siero, a municipality in Asturias. This initiative was made possible by contributions from over 5,000 Volotea customers, with Volotea doubling their donations. Guided by Bosquia’s experts, our employees planted tree species that will support local biodiversity. 🌳 The day also included an environmental session on reforestation and its role in preserving local ecosystems. To commemorate the initiative, we also installed a biodegradable monument recognizing our Volotea Forest. This initiative reflects our commitment to minimizing our carbon footprint, made even more special through projects that engage our teams in local sustainability efforts. Thank you to Bosquia for leading this initiative, our customers for their donations, and our team in Asturias for their support and enthusiasm. 💚 #Volotea #Bosquia #Reforestation #Sustainability #Asturias

We're happy to announce that we've renewed our partnership with Azkuna Zentroa - Alhóndiga Bilbao for the third consecutive year! This year, we’re supporting the new exhibition by Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota, "My House Is Your House," which will be open from May 27th to September 28th, 2025. Chiharu Shiota is internationally recognized for her immersive installations that explore themes of memory, identity, and human connection. Using intricate thread structures, sculptures, and personal objects, she creates deeply evocative works that invite audiences to reflect on the emotions that shape our lives. What makes this new exhibition even more special? A key part is community participation—Bilbao residents are invited to contribute their own stories to the artwork, though submissions are open to all! 🎨 How does it work? 📝 Participants can write a letter or create a drawing about what ‘home’ means to them—what it’s made of, what it represents, and how they would describe it. 🖊️ Submissions must be handwritten or drawn on white paper. 📸 Once completed, the letter or drawing should be photographed or scanned and sent to info@azkunazentroa.eus with the subject line “CHIHARU SHIOTA LETTER” before May 1st. At Volotea, we believe in the power of art and culture to bring people together, fostering creativity and connection. We’re proud to continue supporting projects like these that make a lasting impact in the communities where we operate. A big thank you to Azkuna Zentroa - Alhóndiga Bilbao and Chiharu Shiota for trusting us as partners in this meaningful project. 🤝 To learn more about the exhibition, read our article on Volare: https://lnkd.in/eebAtxkC. #Volotea #AzkunaZentroa #ChiharuShiota #MyHouseIsYourHouse #Bilbao #Art #Culture

At Volotea, our culture is shaped by our people. That’s why we launched our Culture Ambassador initiative a year ago, with one colleague per base championing our values and strengthening team spirit. Some have been with us for over 10 years, while others have recently joined, but all are committed to making Volotea a great workplace. 🌟 Last month, our Culture Ambassadors gathered at our HQ for our first-ever Culture Ambassador Summit! 🚀 During their visit, they toured our Operations Control Center (OCC), met with teams from Crew Travel, Scheduling, Social Media, and more to share insights from their bases. They also presented their 2024 initiatives, discussed employee survey results, and shaped their 2025 engagement plan. 💡 Culture Ambassadors bring our teams closer together through their dedication—leading team-building activities, organizing volunteering opportunities, and supporting sponsorship initiatives. They collaborate daily with Base Managers, Chief Pilots, and Station Managers, and meet monthly to align priorities and bring new ideas to life. Thank you to all our Volotea Culture Ambassadors for your commitment and impact! 🤝✈️ #Volotea #CultureAmbassadors #LifeatVolotea #AviationCommunity #Voloteans
