Our AutoRobXL network has received funding approval for phase 1 from the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM). AutoRobXL starts on August 1, 2023. It consists of eight small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), two large companies and three chairs at TU Dresden. The network manager is Whiterock AG in Stuttgart. Formula Zero – the cement industry’s new formula for decarbonisation: Cement + carbon sand = carbon-neutral concrete. Formula Zero is a new strategy for reducing CO2 emissions from cement and concrete to zero. How does it work? CARBONSANDS' carbon-negative Carbon Sand is designed to replace sand in concrete. This enables the cement industry to offer carbon-neutral concrete with its existing cement products. Revolutionary analysis technology often enables breakthroughs in important problems or scientific questions. Of course, revolutionary analysis technology is a necessary but not sufficient condition. We are fascinated by two such instruments from ZEISS. The MultiSEM device combines 91 scanning electron microscopes in one instrument, making it possible for the first time to scan mm-sized objects with tremendous resolution. The Xradia Ultra brings the technology of a 2-kilometer synchrotron into the laboratory - with a footprint of less than 2 meters. Incredibly detailed 3D computer tomography scans on the nm and µm scale are becoming almost routine for researchers from academia and industry.
