From Newbie to Winner in 48 Hours! 🚀🏆 Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in my first XR Hackathon, the #XRHack Cologne! Together with my amazing team, we conquered the "Experiential Education" track, sponsored by Pearson. 🎉 Our project: "Molly the Molecule: The Acid Base Adventure" 🧪 We developed a mixed-reality application that allows students to conduct chemical experiments in Augmented Reality and then dive into the molecular level to witness the chemical reactions in VR. 🧬 Accompanied by the AI-powered "Molly," students are guided through their learning journey. 🤖 From those 48 hours, I took away two key learnings: The Power of Collaboration: In just 48 hours, incredible innovations can emerge when diverse perspectives come together. 🤝 Before the hackathon, I didn't know my team members, but with a common goal, we quickly became a cohesive unit! 💪 A big thank you to Tiago Silva, Dr. Jonas Blattgerste, David Dünnebier, and Spandana M.! Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone: Jumping into the deep end of a hackathon can lead to unexpected breakthroughs. 💡 I hesitated to join initially, since I've only been coding for a few months. But those worries were unfounded—it's in challenges that we grow! 🚀 I’m thrilled to see how well our prototype was received, and I’m planning to continue its development. Stay tuned to see where this journey leads! 🌟 After this experience, I encourage everyone to do something this year that they’re not quite sure they’re ready for.
