About the Role:
This role presents an opportunity for you to play a crucial role in shaping the Asset Safety & Risk Management within RWE Offshore Wind. As an Asset Safety & Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our Offshore Wind Operations fleet with all related process from Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigation (on Technical Incidents) over Risk Assessments and Case to Operate Assessments to Plant Modifications. You will be working closely with our colleagues from Operations as well as Engineering, Controlling and HSSE ensuring the application of appropriate mitigations to multi-€m individual risks, with a significant cumulative impact upon the business. This role will be formative in shaping the core processes and activities of the team, communicating and embedding them into the operational offshore business, and transferring Lessons Learned into our new Designs in Development & Construction.
Your Responsibilities:
Actively engage with our Operational fleet to ensure Asset & Plant Safety and Asset Risks are monitored effectively along the life cycle
Oversee reviews of Asset Risks for Offshore Operations and ensure the consistent application of the Asset Safety & Risk framework across the offshore fleet working with relevant stakeholders from Operations and Engineering experts
Become a key manager of Asset Safety related incidents and near misses
Lead on Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis with Operations ensuring appropriate investigations are undertaken and actions implemented
Provide responsive support for the production of Case to Operate and Operational Plant Modification assessments, working closely with Operations and Engineering
Steer international teams in Engineering, HSE, Finance, and Operations to find and execute optimal solutions for technical risk mitigation and ensure continuous risk mitigation implementation
Provide active Project management for mitigation projects within our Offshore Operations fleet
Ensure Asset Safety standards and Asset Risks lessons learned are adopted in RWE Offshore Wind technical specifications and future Offshore designs
Develop appropriate reporting and KPIs and ensure good collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as Engineering, Development, Construction, and Operations, as well as other HSSE teams
Onboard new-Built Offshore Operations site and arrange Risk Hand Over from Construction to Operations incl. all relevant Stakeholders (Quality, Construction, Controlling)
Your Profile:
Completed university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
Several years’ experience and technical competence in engineering assets
Offshore Wind Engineering or Operations experience offers a benefit
Practical Asset & Plant Safety or Asset Risk Management experience, ideally in an international environment
Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively and deliver results in situations where stakeholders have conflicting interests and priorities
Solid communication skills: can confidently communicate complex theoretical concepts and ideas in easily understood terms and investigate issues professionally and assertively. Able to prepare and deliver structured and compelling reports and written and verbal presentations on complex technical topics
Able and willing to travel regularly, including internationally
Precise, persistent and thorough, able to set and maintain quality standards for their work but able to respond flexibly to the short-term demands of the operational business
Business fluent in written and spoken English, additional language(s) desirable
