English below 👇 Wir waren mit unseren kreativen Bildungsworkshops zu Gast im NS-Dokumentationszentrum München. Gemeinsam mit Schüler*innen aus München hatten wir letzte Woche das besondere Vergnügen uns im Rahmen unseres Projekts Ich wand‘re durch Theresienstadt kreativ mit der Geschichte auseinanderzusetzen. In Workshops zum kreativen Schreiben, Film und Schauspiel lernten die jungen Erwachsenen mehr über das Lager Theresienstadt zur NS-Zeit und konnten sich mit dem historischen und kulturellen Erbe der inhaftierten Künstler*innen auseinandersetzen. Ein riesiges Dankeschön an das tolle Team des NS-Dokumentationszentrum München für die wunderbare Möglichkeit, hier die Workshops durchführen zu können und für eure Gastfreundlichkeit! English--- We were guests at the Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism with our creative educational workshops. Together with pupils from Munich, we had the great opportunity last week to creatively engage with history as part of our project ICH WAND'RE DURCH THERESIENSTADT. In workshops on creative writing, film and acting, the young adults learnt more about the Theresienstadt camp during the Nazi regime and were able to engage with the historical and cultural heritage of the imprisoned artists. A huge thank you to the fantastic team at the Munich Documentation Centre for the wonderful opportunity to hold the workshops here and for your hospitality! This!!!! Teaching and learning are so important; we need those core subjects, but, we also need the arts! 'Art imitates Life' - How many times have you sat (or stood) and watched a film, tv series, play or live music? Did you realise how much went into that finished product? How many people worked on that project? How little they'd have been paid, or recognised for their immense talents and abilities? How many times have you heard a child described as 'talented' or 'creative'? Where can they channel that talent and creativity? The arts are for all, and they are just as, if not more, important than our core subjects. Creativity, imagination, holding a mirror up to society and screaming "Look!" are important! Allowing raw talent to emerge and stories to be told in whichever mode the artist deems appropriate is important! Let us not stifle our creative voices and our future visionaries! Let us instead empower them! Give them the means, the tools, the equipment and the autonomy to make their dreams a reality! Empower more people with chances they may never have had in life otherwise, and slowly we will start to see how the world can be a much better, brighter, more positive, more diverse and colourful place! 'It’s simply not the case that a degree in literature or theatre studies does not fit a student for the workplace, either in the arts or out of it: these subjects teach communication and analytical skills that are essential in any line of work. But more than this, students are not working parts in a machinery for the generation of taxable income: they are human souls, deserving of access to the beauty and transportation of the arts either in education or out of it.' https://lnkd.in/emVCe2FY

*English version below* Kinder lernen das Sprechen unterschiedlich schnell. Daher ist es nicht einfach, Auffälligkeiten im Spracherwerb in den ersten Lebensjahren sofort zu erkennen. Eine frühe Förderung ist jedoch sehr wichtig, um betroffenen Kindern einen guten Start in die Schulzeit zu ermöglichen. Das Fraunhofer IDMT in Oldenburg und die Klett Lernen und Information GmbH (KLI) der Klett Gruppe untersuchen im KLI-Projekt »Sprechen für die Zukunft« gemeinsam, inwieweit technologische Lösungen Erzieherinnen und Erzieher in der Kita beim Erkennen von Förderbedarfen unterstützen können. Bei den Entwicklungen steht Sprachwissenschaftlerin Prof. Dr. Julia Siegmüller beratend zur Seite. Der Projektpartner Fröbel unterstützt das Vorhaben durch eine praxisnahe Zusammenarbeit mit Erzieherinnen und Erziehern an seinen Kita-Standorten. This makes it difficult to detect anomalies in language acquisition immediately and in the first years of their lives. However, to give children affected by such a developmental delay a good start when they go to school, early support is essential. Together, Fraunhofer IDMT in Oldenburg and the Klett Lernen und Information GmbH (KLI) of the Klett Group are exploring to what extent technological solutions can help nursery teachers to identify support needs. Call for Paper unser Einrichtung Käte Hamburger Research Centre global dis:connect für eine Summerschool zum Thema „Cultural Infrastructure(s)“ Gerne teilen! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Der Fokus liegt auf kulturellen Infrastrukturen aus "dis:connektiver Perspektiven". Dabei wird insbesondere auf Unterbrechungen, Störungen und Abwesenheiten in den Prozessen der Globalisierung eingegangen, die bisher oft als stetige Vernetzung betrachtet wurden. Kulturelle Infrastrukturen sind aus globaler Sicht vor allem durch große Ungleichheiten gekennzeichnet. Die Summerschool bietet den Teilnehmern die Möglichkeit, ihre eigenen Projekte zum Thema vorzustellen und beinhaltet mehrere Masterklassen mit renommierten Wissenschaftlern sowie Kunst- und Filmpräsentationen. Alle Sessions finden auf Englisch statt. "global dis:connect" fördert den Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Kunst als gleichberechtigte Mittel, um dis:konnektive Phänomene der Globalisierung anzugehen. Solche Phänomene hinterlassen oft wenige Spuren in Archiven und sind in vielen Fällen schwer direkt zu beobachten, aber künstlerische Praxis kann sie oft aufdecken und zugänglich machen. Die Teilnehmer können das Präsentationsformat vorschlagen, das am besten zu ihrer Arbeit passt, sei es ein wissenschaftlicher Aufsatz, eine Filmvorführung, ein künstlerischer Eingriff, moderierte Diskussionen oder Diashows.
