PanHunter is a key part of our precision medicine platform and enables advanced analysis of large studies and molecular patient databases. The user-oriented and interactive web application allows for in-depth data discovery across multi-omics datasets and handles experiments starting from a few entries to large-scale projects with tens of thousands of samples. In combination with our high-throughput transcriptomics and proteomics platforms, Evotec can provide the full range from industrialized data generation to deep data analytics for the whole drug discovery and development value chain. In developing PanHunter, our goal was to achieve a better understanding of human diseases, biological models, and compound activities through easy data analysis. As the tasks of data processing, analysis, and interpretation can be challenging with large scale datasets, we placed special emphasis on enabling scientists to dive into complex data sets without getting lost. Our platform enables direct interaction with the data and quick deep dives into details to get faster and better answers to the research questions at hand.

I had the opportunity to discuss multi-omics with leading players in the industry, looking at the ways in which it can help us tackle disease. Uwe Andag, EVP Head of Metabolic and Renal Diseases at Evotec, emphasises that multi-omics provides an unbiased analysis of DNA, RNA, protein, and metabolites from the same sample, enhancing understanding of cellular mechanisms. Professor Timothy Hinks, Associate Professor in Respiratory Immunology at the University of Oxford, notes the significant advancements in healthcare driven by immunological discoveries, particularly in diseases like asthma, which benefit from the detailed insights provided by multi-omics. Sonja Hess, Senior Director Dynamic Omics at AstraZeneca, highlights the use of bioinformatics and AI in integrating multi-omic datasets to boost drug discovery and development, while Graham Belfield, Director Next Generation Sequencing and Transcriptomics at AstraZeneca, discusses the potential for multi-omics to advance personalised medicine through clinical trial data integration.
