Da kommt was #Gewichtiges aus der European Union – und zwar mit dem sperrigen Namen #Ecodesign #for #Sustainable #Products #Regulation, kurz #ESPR, besser bekannt als die #Weiterführung der #Ökodesignrichtlinie. Die wichtigsten Aspekte des neuen #Rahmenwerks für Unternehmen und #Design habe ich in Teil 1 der Reihe zur neuen ESPR für #ndion by Rat für Formgebung - German Design Council und im engen Austausch mit Katharina de Silva und Bernd M. zusammengefasst. https://lnkd.in/eA93xarN 🦎 Hier schon mal ein paar #KeyFacts: 🪀 Mit der #ESPR, die die Europäische Union am 18. Juli 2024 #erlassen hat, wird #Nachhaltigkeit für Produkte #verpflichtend. Darin fordert die EU ganz klar, dass „nachhaltige Produkte die #Norm werden müssen“. 🧩 Die ESPR baut auf dem #Erfolg der bislang geltenden #Ökodesignrichtlinie auf und soll in den kommenden Jahren eine #Kreislaufwirtschaft gemäß dem EU #Green #Deal etablieren – um schließlich das Ziel der #Klimaneutralität im Jahr 2050 zu erreichen. 🍏 Dabei ist die ESPR ziemlich #umfassend: Während die #Ökodesignrichtlinie bislang vor allem auf Energieeffizienz abzielte, wird nun der komplette #Lebenszyklus von Produkten ins Visier genommen – darunter #Herstellung, #Materialien, #Nutzung und das #Recycling am „Lebensende“, um den ökologischen Fußabdruck des einzelnen Produktes und damit des gesamten europäischen Binnenmarktes erheblich zu senken. 🍀 Dem Design und der Produktentwicklung kommen dabei eine bedeutende #Rolle zu, da hier #80 Prozent der #Umweltauswirkungen eines Produktes festgelegt werden. 🌳 Ein zentrales Element des neuen Rahmenwerks ist nicht zuletzt der #digitale #Produktpass, der für Transparenz sorgen und die Zirkularität erleichtern soll. 🥒 Die ESPR muss noch in #nationales #Recht übertragen werden – außerdem wird es für einzelne #Produktgruppen #spezfische #Direktiven geben – danach haben Unternehmen 18 Monate Zeit, sich auf die neuen Regeln umzustellen. 📗 Für öffentliche Diskussion sorgte bereits, dass es durch die ESPR in der EU ab 2025 #verboten sein wird, neue #Textilien und Schuhe zu #vernichten. ▶️ in dem Artikel sind auch Links enthalten , unter denen man sich weiter informieren kann ▶️ den Artikel gibt es auch auf Englisch https://lnkd.in/epR_pxAA ▶️ in den kommenden Wochen erscheinen noch Teil 2 und 3 der Reihe zur ESPR auf ndion

The turnaround for walls | Nominated in the #product category The use of ‘STRAMEN.TEC’ products reduces the burden on the environment in terms of various life cycle assessment indicators. ‘STRAMEN.TEC partition walls’ consist mainly of local straw. During the production process, the original waste product from grain cultivation is utilised and pressed into solid panels under heat without the addition of adhesives. In addition to recycled carbon black from the Schwalbe recycling system, it is a pioneer in the industry in terms of sustainable innovation with natural rubber from fair trade and a total of 80 % recycled and renewable materials. This pays off in the life cycle assessment. Pigmentura by CHT | Nominated in the #product category ‘PIGMENTURA by CHT’ is an innovative, pigment-based dyeing process that requires neither water for soaping and rinsing nor energy for heating the dye liquor. Compared to other continuous dyeing processes, up to 96 % of water and 60 % of energy are saved. 60 % of the energy is saved. Kynd Hair - plant-based synthetic hair | Nominated in the #product category ‘Kynd Hair’ has developed the first plastic-free synthetic hair in Europe and is therefore specifically aimed at the needs of Black people, as every second Black woman regularly wears synthetic hair. However, existing products consist of toxic, carcinogenic chemicals and are not recyclable.
