Safety day 2024 Took place on Thursday 10 October across the organisation It was introduced in 2011 to raise the awareness of our #teams to #safety #initiatives at their sites and in the Group Several activities were carried out this day such as: Identify areas/activities during the safety day/week (with Risk Analysis) CPR training Safety driving Visit from the fire department Intoxication obstacle course Blazepods reaction test in which reaction speed is tested  “A good reaction is not only important in everyday life and sport, but can also be an important factor in preventing accidents at work, particularly in the area of occupational safety.”   Safety is not a priority for us: IT IS A CORE VALUE THAT DRIVES OUR ACTIONS AND DECISIONS!! On Saturday August 17th, Pilkington Automotive workers came together for a family fun day to celebrate 25 years of operations in Redditch, the centre for our automotive operations in the UK.   In 1999, Pilkington Automotive’s 250,000 sq. ft national distribution centre opened at the Old Forge Drive site in Redditch. In 2020, a 12-month build period saw a new 72,000 sq. ft extension added, as the manufacturing operations moved from Kings Norton, Birmingham, to the new combined manufacturing and distribution centre, which now houses over 200 workers.   The event on Saturday saw staff and their families attending the celebration for fun, food, drinks, football and music, including colleagues from distribution sites in Avonmouth and Redditch.   Mark Hay, AGR UK Operations Manager & Process Improver AGRE, said: “We were really pleased with the success of the Redditch family day, and the fact that it was marking the 25th anniversary of the site opening in Redditch made it extra special for us all. 🌟 ReCO™ is SERMI certified 🌟 We are pleased to announce that our inhouse Remote Calibration Service called ReCO™ is officially SERMI certified now. What does SERMI mean? SERMI stands for SEcurity related Repair and Maintenance Information and provides standardised access to security-related Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI), but under the protection of security standards and security certificates. This procedure has been launched based on an EU Regulation. What does it mean for you as a fitter? Your workshop and all your employees accessing and working with security related data need to be approved and authorised. What is happening if you aren't authorized? Security-related repair and maintenance work can't be done and offered by you in the future. For example, you wouldn't be able to use our ReCO™ service in the future if those security related data will also be locked by automotive manufacturers. Reason is that not only the provider offering security related services need to be authorised, but also the workshop that is using this service. Keyword: closed loop authorisation.
