Successful 6G Health Project Meeting: Insights and Progress Over the past two days, we had the pleasure of hosting our 6G Health project meeting at Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden, where we engaged in in-depth discussions about the architecture of 6G. During these sessions, we validated the use cases from the project and their requirements, paving the way for our next steps. A special highlight was the visit from our colleague Dr. Bharat Agarwal (Ph.D.), who, as a 6G expert, provided valuable insights into the 6G-ANNA research project. Bharat answered our questions and helped clarify many aspects of our work. In addition to the technical discussions, we also delved into the legal and ethical aspects of 6G technology. These conversations are crucial as we strive to ensure that our innovations are not only cutting-edge but also responsible and compliant with regulations. Our use cases include neuromonitoring, body-area networks and localisation. These applications highlight the diverse and impactful potential of 6G technology in advancing healthcare. To conclude, we discussed security and resilience, with Jennifer Gabriel presenting the 6G-ReS project. This project aims to enhance the trustworthiness and reliability of 6G networks, ensuring they can withstand various challenges and threats. It's a wrap: Cyber Future Forum at Vodafone's Tech Innovation Center! We brought the right people together at the right time and place with the right topics. Over two days, we had so many inspiring participants. We enjoyed inspirational talks, panels, and speakers from organizations such as the Barkhausen Institute, SoftEd Systems, BSI, and of course, Vodafone. From "The Real Treasure: Data" (Steven D. Carter, University of Maryland Global Campus) to "Bridging Cyber Specialisms with Human Insight" (Julia Jüttner, Vodafone), we explored all corners of the vast field of Cyber Security. Just like Carlos Sanchez Escuderos (VF) & Zoica Doko highlighted in their keynote about the exciting and threatening future of Cyber Security, the conclusion is clear: We need to keep an eye on all these topics. Day 2 of our Cyber Future Forum at the Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden is alreadyin full swing. Yesterday, we enjoyed a fantastic opening ceremony and engaging discussions on joint communication and sensing security led by Stefan Köpsell, along with insights into the BSI IT protection profile for 5G non-public networks by Thomas Lundström. The day culminated in an enriching expert panel shedding light on IT security from diverse angles. Today, Manfred Verholen took the stage to delve into the NESAS scheme, offering valuable insights and perspectives. Digitizing Healthcare: A Focus at Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden This week we held a two-day workshop on Remote Patient Monitoring jointly with medical professionals from Technische Universität Dresden, Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health IoT experts from Vodafone Business, Medtech Device manufacturers like Medisanté, and Docs4D GmbH. We always start from the clinical need to the challenge. That's why it was very valuable to have Dr. Anne Sophie Kubasch and Dr. Alexandros Paraforos with us. We concentrated on two use cases: 1. Hospital at home: Exploring how secure communications and cloud technology can facilitate moving parts of hospital treatment to the home. 2. Remote Patient Monitoring: Simplifying patient monitoring, especially for those with chronic diseases. The focus of the medical professionals is on outcome for the patient, and efficiency in the hospital. We were honored to have Stephen Gilbert, one of Europe's leading experts on medical regulation, join our workshop. The different backgrounds of the workshop participants helps to ensure that medical need, technology innovation, legal compliance and medical billing align to create a complete value chain. The 5G enabled devices you can see in the picture include a blood pressure cuff, ECG, thermometer, scale, and blood glucose meter, plus a web frontend for doctors. The can directly connect patients with hospital staff in a secure and data protection compliant way. In the projects SEMECO and 6G-HEALTH, both funded by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, we work jointly with our partners on such topics.

Co-creation jointly with partners is key at Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden. One of our partners is Barkhausen Institut in Dresden. They focus on Security, Trustworthiness and the future of mobile communicators. We work with them in projects on 5G/6G security (i.e. 6G-RES), especially for critical infrasture and in a project focussed on digital health (SEMECO). And we are both partners in 5G Lab Germany. Yesterday I had the pleasure to attend the Automotive Visionary Forum at #ARENA2036 in Stuttgart - organized by Vodafone Business and DXC Technology. The focus of the event AI in the automotive production value chain and AI as part of a car. I learned a lot about what innovation is actually happening in China and how NIO is taking customer feedback on board to change the software of the car in an encredible fast way. NVIDIA showed also how to get #AI value in a right combination in the cloud and at the edge. Prof. Huber from #ARENA2036 shared inisghts on how to get AI actually on the road. One success factor is to start with small pilots and scale later. This is actually also the approach of Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden. Great event with the opportunity to exchange views with the automotive industry including Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Hyundai, Bosch, Continental, IAV, Nio etc. The Safer Transport for Europe Platform (STEP) was shown by Vodafone - which connects data from different car OEMs and road operators.   This is Sami S. from Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden at the “IEEE Consumer Communications & Networking Conference” (CCNC, https://lnkd.in/gJx7cuAc ) early in January.  This international conference brings together leading researchers, developers, and practitioners from academia and industry to present their latest research and advancements in consumer communications and networking. 💡 To build networks for the future, we need to understand the needs of tomorrow’s customers. Our aim? To improve customer experiences by: #Offloading compute to the network – enabling more lightweight and efficient devices. Offloading #AI model inference to the network – enabling faster responses and lower latency.   The paper, "In-Network Computing (INC) for real-time object recognition in XR applications", focuses on leveraging #AI within #6G networks to reduce latency and optimize bandwidth for real-time XR applications.
