Fashion meets performance: At Techtexil and Texprocess, young professionals of tomorrow presented new concepts and innovative visions in the MASTERCLASS Performance Fashion Design by Nora Kühner. The workshop connected fashion students, manufacturers of functional apparel textiles and suppliers of processing technologies from all over the world. During the trade fairs, the students developed sustainable concepts for apparel and equipment together with the renowned designer . The fashion students came from international design universities such as the University of the Arts London, Savonia University of Applied Sciences and Hochschule Bielefeld. For more sustainability in the textile care industry ✅ At this year’s Texprocess, the German company VEIT Group received a Texprocess Innovation Award in the "Economic Quality" category for its patented "CF20 DesFin" compact finisher. The new device removes odours, mould, stains and pathogens from garments – without any chemicals. The manufacturer of ironing boards, fusing and laminating machines developed the compact finisher together with the wfk - Cleaning Technology Institute e.V. With their new appliance, clothing from returns or goods transported over long distances by ship can be disinfected, deodorised and ironed at the same time. Veit counts brands such as HUGO BOSS and Zara among its customers. New developments with AI integration promise to provide a remedy for recycling solutions in the future, for example by differentiating between textile and non-textile materials and by separating them automatically. But how can industry and research work together on new solutions with AI integration? The French innovation platform CETIA is developing industrial solutions that prepare textiles for the recycling process. SHIFTING THE LIMITS! 🌎 35,181 visitors and industry experts from 94 countries and regions met at this years Techtextil and Texprocess. With 63% visitors from abroad, the two trade fairs proved to be the global hotspots of textile innovations and solutions for various industries in Frankfurt. 85% of the trade fair visitors stated that they would also attend Techtextil and Texprocess in 2026. How to design a time machine from 1967? 🕰 Hochschule Niederrhein and Multi-Plot Europe GmbH answered this question at Texprocess. Together, they presented the diversity of digital textile printing - in a completely different way: With the help of a vintage camper, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the world of digitally printed fabrics and discover new textile patterns, digital technologies such as body scanning and exciting textile innovations. 🚍 'Pure flower power: Our vintage camper enchanted with a very special flair and presented the variety of digitally printed fabrics in an impressive room. In addition to the interior, the camping wear and fashion were also individually designed and manufactured. The show car impressively demonstrated the possibilities of today's vertical range of manufacture for textiles, even for unique items,’ explains Joachim Rees, CEO Multiplot.
