Disney released a new teaser trailer and a banner for Disney's Maleficent, and we learned that Maleficent used to have wings when she was younger, which were stollen from her. A new full trailer will be released tomorrow, so stay tuned on D&M!

Maleficent Trailer 2 Now Released !

Disney released a second trailer for "Maleficent", and it looks more great than ever! They do a clear link with Sleeping Beauty animated movie, as you'll see in the first shots and i can't wait to see it!

Round of Reshoots For Maleficent Movie

Bad news from the Maleficent movie - with Angelina Jolie playing Maleficent - as Disney decided a reshoot of opening scenes. Director Robert Stromberg, talented set designer who won Oscars for his production design on Alice in Wonderland and Avatar - and who is making here his first feature directorial debut - will still direct. 

But John Lee Hancock who directed the awaited "Saving Mr Banks" was asked to write the new scenes and will be on set with a supervisory role, although he won't take directing duties over Stromberg. "We asked him to be on set" said of Hancock Joe Roth, producer, "He's not directing. He wrote pages and as i hired a first time director it's good to have him on set". "The movie is gorgeous to look at and the last 75 minutes are really entertaining" added Roth.

The reshoots will take place over eight days and will not involve Angelina Jolie. So far the planned May 30, 2014 release date is still okay but obviously after the failure of John Carter and Lone Ranger Disney don't want to take any risk with another $200M movie. Let's just hope that they're taking the right decision with this reshooting...

Gorgeous Sleeping Beauty Book to be Released Next October

Here is a bloody good news for those of you fans of Disney Animation: Pierre Lambert next gorgeous book will be all about famous Disney classic animated movie Sleeping Beauty ( "La Belle au Bois Dormant", in french ) and will be released on October 29. For those of you who might not know who Pierre Lambert is, he's the one who did the previous large size books about Pinochio, Mickey Mouse, Snow White, the Jungle Book, all done with the participation of the Walt Disney Studios who provided the original cellos, artwork, etc...

The result is a series of gorgeous coffee table books - it will be difficult to beat Lambert books in terms of quality for books about Disney Animation - and all of them are a must-have for any Disney animation fan. In a previous article done when the Jungle Book book was released i told you how good they are and i'll be you i wouldn't miss this new one - and specially this one because Sleeping Beauty was the most "stylized" of all Disney classics and this should help to have a book even more gorgeous than the previous ones.



Note that this 220 pages book will be published by another different publisher - i think it's the third time that Pierre Lambert has to find a new publisher - and the new one is called Editions de l'Ecole Georges Méliès. You can pre-order the book on Amazon HERE, if you wish.

Production of Maleficent Movie Begins - First Picture of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent !

The production of the awaited Maleficent movie starring Angelina Jolie as Maleficent began on June 13, and we have the first picture of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent!

"The Walt Disney Studios announced today that production began Wednesday, June 13th, on “Maleficent,” starring Academy Award–winning actress Angelina Jolie. Directed by two-time Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut, and produced by Joe Roth, “Maleficent” is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel.

Co-starring in the film are Sharlto Copley (“District 9”), Elle Fanning (“Super 8”), Sam Riley (“On the Road”), Imelda Staunton (“Vera Drake”), Miranda Richardson (“The Hours”), Juno Temple (“Atonement”) and Lesley Manville (“Secrets & Lies”).

This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.

“Maleficent” is scheduled for a March 14, 2014 release in 3D, so you'll have to wait a bit to discover Angelina in this great villain role.
