Details About Dubai Motiongate Theme Park Rides

We've got some news about Motiongate, the theme park which will be part of Dubai Parks and Resorts which plan to become the largest leisure destination in the Middle East. Motiongate is set to open in Jebel Ali in October 2016 and will be 1.9 million square feet. This one will be the  “Hollywood” theme park with 27 attractions inspired by 13 blockbuster films. Check out the new park artwork above.

DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures and Lionsgate will have licensed rides in the park with films like The Hunger Games, Ghostbusters, Hotel Transylvania, The Smurfs, Zombieland, Shrek and more, see the list on the screen capture below. Attractions will include rollercoasters, multimedia theatre and a massive water ride which will use 793,000 gallons of water.

Here are some pics showing some of the lands, starting by Sony Pictures Studios land...

According to a comment on Themeparx, the Hotel Transylvania ride will be in a 2,800 square metre indoor space and will be seven minutes long. During it you’ll be seated in a carriage that holds four people. The ride is ‘trackless’, and there are 27 separate carriages going around at once, which means you’ll never know which way you’ll turn and you’re likely to have near-misses with other punters. The highest point of the ride is 42 metres (about the same height as the Statue of Liberty). The ‘story’ of the ride will be a surprise party hosted by the monsters in the movie.

The Hunger Games attraction … hopefully let's hope that a bunch of teenagers will not be chasing us with weapons.

Guido Zucchi, Motiongate General Manager said of the park, “It’s going to be like Hollywood in the desert.” Let's hope they'll have air-con! When the full Dubai project will be finished i will include also a Bollywood theme park, a retail centre, a hotel operated by Marriott, and a separate Legoland park. More than 11,000 people are currently working on the parks to get them ready for the grand opening next year.

Last but not least here is a short video demo for part of the rides.

" Monsters vs Aliens " looks really really cool...

On March 27, Monsters vs Aliens will be released in the U.S ( April 1st in France ) and the more i see about it, the more i think this new Dreamworks animated film is going to be cool.

Think about a mix of the Incredibles, Monsters Inc and Mars Attack! and you'll have a quite good idea of how it will look visually.

Want to know the "pitch"? Here it is: "When a meteorite from outer space hits a young California girl named Susan Murphy and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years. As a last resort, under the guidance of General W.R. Monger, on a desperate order from The President, the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to combat the aliens and save the world from imminent destruction!"

Dreamworks animators have designed a gallery of characters that promise to be fun whether they are "monsters" or "aliens". In the "monsters" category - supposedly the one who will save the world - we have: Ginormica/Susan Murphy the giant California girl...

Dr Cockroach Ph.D...

The Missing Link (yes, that's his name)...

And Bob the Blob. If you find in the look of these four characters reminiscences of the 1950's Sci-fi/horror movies, it's probably not a coincidence...

And so you won't be surprised to know that Gallaxar the main "alien" villain got the perfect 1950's alien look...

And let's not forget Insectosaurus...

As the world - and more specifically the U.S - is in danger, the Pentagone situation room we've seen so often in other movies - and recently in the Watchmen - is back again!

And San Francisco's Golden Gate bridge will be once again under (alien) attack!

Enough talk, let's have a look at the real thing with different trailers. Some scenes are repeated in each trailer below, but each of them have also different interesting shots, so i've embedded them all! A first mini-review of the movie is also available at Honor Hunter's Blue Sky Disney site HERE.

This next one is not a trailer but a movie clip with the giant girl in the Army secret base, don't miss it!

Now, the movie will have a 3D version. If you have some 3D glasses at your home, here is the 3D trailer!

As we could expect, a video game inspired by the movie is coming soon! The game was developed by Activision and Dream Works for Xbox 360 Live, Games For Windows Live, Wii, Nintendo DS,and Playstation - but no "MAC" version! Damn!
Anyway, here are two pictures and the video game trailers, and it also looks pretty cool.

I have the feeling that Monsters vs Aliens should be a fun tribute to the sci-fi movies of the 50's - you know, those you can see trailers while having dinner at Disney's Hollywood Studios Sci-Fi Drive in.

Hopefully we should have some press screening soon in Paris, and you can count on my review when i will have seen it! In the meantime, let's end with two great wallpaper pictures!
